    Does anyone know of a good officiant in New Mexico (Santa Fe or Albuquerque)?  My Fiance and I would prefer a male officiant, but have only been able to find one and his rates were too high (around $450).  Thanks!Innocent

    Hey! It's good to see another New Mexico bride on here. Ask me any questions on other vendors - we're getting married next week, so I will be able to tell you how they all were afterwards.

    We are getting a free officiant (the caterer's son is ordained and offered to do it for free! Random, but he's a really cool guy and has done tons of weddings, so I had to say yes.)

    But we did talk to a guy named Eric Dale with Awakened Weddings. That might have been who you talked to (or the same company - they are pretty big here apparently). But he was around $300, I think.

    If you want his info, send me a message!

    The reception venue I'm using is a Bed and Breakfast and the owner's husband is an officiant. I don't know if he'll do it if you're not having the wedding there, but it doesn't hurt to look into. www.albuquerquebedandbreakfasts.com

    Thanks guys!  We have found a woman we may go with because her pricing is so much better than anyone we've found....just need to meet her in person first!  Do you guys have recommendations on florists or bakeries?  Thanks! :)

    I work with two girls who say that the people at Cakes by Karyn were hideously rude to them, but I don't have any firsthard knowledge about that.

    We get cupcakes and cakes from Cake Fetish often and they've been good to work with, but if you are looking for a big fancy traditional cake I don't know if they do those.

    If you are going the cupcake route, I will also say that The Grove has amazing cupcakes, but they don't set them up for you.

    @nmsoonerbride:

    Sorry...that obviously was meant for the cake thread, and now it is too late to edit it.

    No that helps, thanks!  Right now I'm looking at "A Cake Odyssey" and "ABC Bakery".   :)

    CUPCAKEOLOGY! I'm obsessed and addicted to them. They did our wedding (we had a cake AND cupcakes) and i'd say about half of our guests have since asked about our cake/cupcakes. (PM me if you'd like to see pictures - I'm still in love with Cupcakeology!)

    The cakes from Le Chantilly Fine Pastries are amazing.  The environment for tasting is just as great, nothing is better for tasting then fresh cake and coffee or hot chocolate.  The staff is so friendly.  Cake prices are a little high but well worth it.  They are located on Menaul just west of Wyoming.

    @jesstagirl:  This is suuuch an old post, but out of curiousity, about how much wer ethe cupcakes?  I've been quoted around $5 a cupcake, which is really high IMO.
