- Wedding: September 2014
So my officiant was originally my godfather who is also a famous writer. It was just perfect for our non-religious, vineyard wedding! My fiance is pretty opposed to religion being incorporated at all in our ceremony. He wants it to just be about US and our love and sharing that with those we love who are present. It was something that I just knew was going to be perfect, lighthearted, yet creative and intellectual! I was so excited!!!!
But now my Godfather is receiving a life time achievement award the exact day as our wedding. He is still going to record a video message and talk about his views on life, love, and us as a couple. I am not sure how best to showcase this amazing video, but mostly now I’m just feeling completely lost as to who is going to marry us!
To go from having someone who meant so much to us and who understood our personalities so well to the thought of a potential stranger doing it…. I haven’t even been able to think of another option.
Do any of you bees have ideas or suggestions? Did any of you have a unique officiant? Also, how should I show the guests the video? Should we broadcast it on a large screen? Email it to everyone to watch? I think I’m having a hard time being proactive about this because it was already my IDEAL perfect situation and now I’m just unable to think outside (or inside) the box for sollutions.
