We're using Bruce Otto of Spirited Weddings (www.spiritedweddings.com). We want a totally secular ceremony and he is basically letting us write our own everything and he will just read the parts we tell him to. He also has this awesome super-low voice, which we really liked!
What a concept....We haven't thought about that! Is it kind of odd to be married by a person you don't know? It seems a more attractive alternative than having one of my friends take an online course and marry us....What is the customary amount to pay a Chicagoland officiant?
My friend and BM was having this same dilemma, and recently found an officiant she loves. She actually called the "Rent-A-Rev" (I know, I know) who was booked up, but that guy knows lots of officiants in the area and recommended Rev. Bill Anderson. She isn't getting married until next fall, but says this guy is pretty wonderful. Don't know if that helps though.
Can anyone recommend a really great Chicago officiant, preferably someone secular or at least interfaith?
