Fiance and I are getting married in my church. The pastor has been there only a few years, and he is wonderful! We have actually become friends, and his wife is equally wonderful. They are young, under 30, but very knowlegable people ( his dad is a pastor also) I asked him about what it would cost for him to marry us, and he said there is no fee for members, but if I wanted to give a donation, that is fine. I have seen people who marry there give $50-$60 for services, so fiance and I have decided on $100-150. It is what is in our budget. However, do you think we should give him a small gift, like a restaurant GC or something special? Or just add what we would spend on the gift to his donation? We aren’t using a conventional florist, the DJ is practically free, so we may be able to free up some money. Any advice would be appreciated.
