Weddingbee boards

Hi ladies-

I'm trying to choose an officiant and this is one area in which I've had no recommendations and don't know how to go about deciding the right person. I did some research on my own and I've been in contact with Elizabeth Frumin of Weddings with Heart and Dana Lawson from Wedding Weaver. Has anyone used these officiants or seen them in action?

Do you have anyone you would recommend? We want a short, simple, sweet ceremony. Neither of us are very religious and we want to be able to work with the person to customize it.

I'm also looking for an officiant and looking for a short/simple ceremony.  I posted a similiar message on another wedding site and alot have mentioned Journeys of the Hearts (http://www.journeysoftheheart.org). 

I have not reached out to them yet, I plan to in another month or so.  Other than the ones you also listed - I don't know of anyone else. 

I want my officiant to be laid back like we are!

I asked my caterer about rehearsing at our venue the day before and he told me that it's typical that officiants do not do rehearsals - i was very shocked to hear that but all of the weddings that I've attended were in churches so I guess it's different when you're working with an officiant?

Now that I know this, he suggested to still have a rehearsal dinner and prior to the dinner, you can go through the details with the wedding party without actually rehearsing.  I'm a bit nervous about this but I don't know what else to do. 

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

I plan on looking for officiants soon, I'll report back once I get more info.
