OMG - - I am drooling.....I don't know if many girls would agree with me but that gown is drop dead amazing, I would try it on and save my pennies
@mogget that is GORGEOUS :)
I don't know, if you *really* don't want to spend that much I'd suggest finding a similar style...or even take it to a dressmaker and get something made (although that can also be pricey)
I think I'm going to! I'm going with the logic that since my wedding is so far off, I can splurge and then work during the school year next fall to make some extra cash. :)
Maybe you could try it on and if it looks good on you start searching for it on ebay or preownedweddingdresses.com. Thats how I found my dress =)
If you absolutely can't afford it, then I would say don't try it on! If you fall in love, but can't get it, that would be sad.
Another idea would be to keep an eye out for Provovais trunk shows in your area. I got my dress, the Gabon (which is dress 97 on the website), from the 2010 collection at a Pronovais trunk show and got 20% off because I bought the sample.
First see if you can find it online for cheaper. If you can then by all means make that appointment!
I think I'm going to make the appointment. I talked to my parents, and we can afford it as long as the FI and I don't go crazy with the costs of other things. I know at one of the salons that sells Pronovias, a girl I know got her dress for a lower price because she bought the sample. :)
Gorgeous- you must try it! You are far enough out that you can make it happen if you love it as much on. And if you don't you can cross it off the list and not obsess about it. Make sure to take pictures!
If you have a year why not wait. I'm sure you'll be able to find it used or at a sample sale next spring. So many bees have posted about buying dresses too early and regretting it.
That dress is amazing!!!!!! Wow, I love it. Definitely try it on, you'll regret it if you don't.
Wow, that dress is seriously gorgeous! If saving up will be easy enough I'd definitely go for it!
The trick to pronovias (which is my dress) is that the cheaper sites online (like netbride etc) don't carry his designs. He's REALLY aware of his stuff being sold cheaper online and doesn't approve of it basically. Which, stinks for us the consumer... which imho, if a business like net bride would rather focus on qty to offer a lower price/markup than that's their prerogative.
You CAN however call anyone near you (or not near you) that carried pronovias and call and see if theirs a cheaper price. I found mine for $300 cheaper (every bit helps) a few hrs away. For $50 in gas it may be worth it. Also, a trunk show would give a 10-20% discount. Get a trunk show in a cheaper store and you'll really score! (that's like end all luck right there :-)
That being said, that dress is STUNNING and I think it's worth it!
It's a GORGEOUS dress, but if you have any kind of hips, it might not lay how you want it to. Just a heads up!
go for it! you wont be happy until you've tried that dress on. i know its out of your budget range but like you said...you've got plenty of time to save for it. when i was searching for my dress there was one i saw online and absolutely loved! i wasn't happy with any of the dresses i tried on before it. ironically though when i went to the store to try on the one i was drooling over i found one that i loved even more! lol!
Definitely find a place you can try it on. I don't know if it's the model donning it, but I am not sold yet!
You definitely have enough time to try it on now and then watch for used dresses online! I say try it on just because you may find out it's not what you want in a dress once it's on. And if you do fall in love, you seriously have tons of time to watch for sales or used dresses. It can't hurt right?
TRY IT!!!!! Wow, that is a dress I will never forget. Something like that will hold its value enough for you to resell after for around 40-50% of the price.
OOHHHH MYYYY GOOOOD.
I dislike almost all traditional wedding dresses from traditiona brands, but that is AMAZING. And twice my budget as well.
I love this dress! This is so my style....I would definitely try it if I were you, but like the other bees on here mentioned, keep your eyes peeled for a better deal on a preowned or trunk sale...

I was just checking out pictures of dresses online, and I stumbled across this one. I've seen plenty of dresses that I've liked, but this is the only one where I've actually honest to goodness wanted it like nothing else. Here's the kicker: it's $2000. I'm not getting married for over another year, and it's twice the amount of what I wanted to spend. Should I schedule an appointment somewhere I could try it on and risk just totally falling head over heels in it? Or, should I just move on and forget about it? :/
Here it is:

I know it's not everyone's style, but I wanted something simple but a little different, and I think this fits the criteria (and my personality). :)
