I just got back from 15 days in Europe and I’ve gained 9lbs! Meanwhile my dress has been taken in and my final fitting is this Tuesday, August 13th! What am I going to do?!?! I was supposed to be getting rid of my back clevage, not getting bigger!
I hit the gym today and plan to eat low-cal for the next two weeks. But any other advice would be hugely appreciated. I need to be able to fit into my dress because we leave for our wedding next weekend!

@AllieBee12: you’ll be fine! Breathe 🙂 a lot of it is likely water retention. Cut your sodium and carbs down, and you’ll lose it easily 🙂

@AllieBee12: It could absolutely be time of the month, increased sodium intake, water retention from the long flight, a large part of that weight could easily fall off in a few days just by drinking extra water. Don’t panic! Besides stress causes weight gain 😉 how ironic and all-around crappy is that…

I’ve been on the Whole 30 for only 8 days and can fit into a dress I haven’t fit for 2 years!
No alcohol, grains (including corn), legumes, sugar or refined carbs.
Eat all the vegetables you want. Eat fruit as well. Eat lean protein incl. nuts. You’ll be grumpy for the first week but then you’ll start to feel amazing and as a bonus you will be thinner.
Note that I said thinner, I have no idea if I have actually lost weight or not since you aren’t suppoed to weigh yourself. But no one said anything about trying on a dress that’s been embarassingly tight in the hips for 2 years only to have it glide right on 😉

Cardio is your friend! Run/fast walk everywhere!!

Long plane rides can cause temporary bloating too! I had a friend who competed in bodybuilding contests and she used to have to fly days ahead to lose the temporary bloat.
don’t panic, you’ll be fine. 🙂

@ANGELaaimt: @jennmariee: @lilcafe: Thank you for your reassurance! I was trying to be so good while I was away so when I saw the number on the scale I totally freaked!
@canuckandakiwi: Thanks for the resource. I’m basically trying to do that, just without the strict 30 day thing because I really only have a week! But definitely eating a lot of spinach and lean meats and fruit!
@Jessylouise: yes! I took the stairs every chance I got yesterday and parked very far away from the gym!

@AllieBee12: I forgot. No dairy either 🙁 Not fun but I swear it works, even if one week in is mostly getting rid of water.
