Dont do it! You already love your dress! And plus, the kicker is you cant wear heels! Every girl needs heels on her wedding day!!! I say stick with the one you have! 🙂

That looks like a dress that is giong to be very hard to alter the hem on. It’s also pretty form fitting, and will likely need alterations in the his and waist too. I’d stick with the dress you have!

It’s a beautiful dress, but you cried over the one you have and that says a lot. Stick with what you have, but to ease your mind, ask the seller about the dress.

Can you post a picture of the dress you have?  That way we can compare and judge whether the flats would be worth it. (although, I have to say, that AV dress is SCREAMING for heels…)

I also agree that that dress looks as if it would be hard to alter or hem…..you probably don’t share the same body type….what if you are bustier than she is and you need more room, for example, that wouldn’t be easy to fix with that dress, I don’t think.  PLUS, you LOVE your dress………….and I agree, wearing heals is sexy and you should wear them on your wedding day (however, there are some girls that do not like heals and are not wearing them on their wedding day, which is OK to…to each her own!).

Can we see the dress you bought? I would probably stick with the one you already have if I were you, but I can see why you’re torn… that dress is AMAZING!!!

As far as altering that dress – I’m sure if it was hemmed both the lace and the satin were shortened. I’d imagine they shortened the lace underneath the satin so that the edge remained intact and so long as they didn’t cut off the excess 4 inches they took of the satin it could be let out.

HOWEVER you if you already have a dress you like I’d say keep it. Plus without being able to see how the dress was shortened you won’t know how it looks or how it can be altered till you buy it. Undecided Dresses can usually be taken in and shortened but letting out and lenghtening can be difficult.

I think you should stick to the one you bought! Just because honestly, who knows how that altered dress will fit?
