Wow, I am so sorry! I will lift this up in prayer! May the Lord bless you and guide you through this time!
I'm sure you will find someone. So sorry to hear about your priest. I'm not from the area, or I'd give you people to call. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck!
That's terrible! I'm so sorry.
If you have trouble, you could try contacting a retired community of priests. I know that sometimes they get pretty bored and so someone more recently retired might be willing to step up to the plate!
I'm so sorry! What horrible news. And what added stress on the two of you as well! I agree with jedeve, that a retired priest would be an excellent option. I'm sure you could contact the diocese and explain the situation, they may offer some options as well.
Let us know how it all works out!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I was having SUCH a fabulous day yesterday. I met with our DOC, who really made me feel confident that our plans were coming together well. Then I got my hair done to cover up the grays. I was pretty much on cloud nine the whole day.
Then I came home to terrible news. :( My FI received a phone call from the priest who was doing our wedding (we're getting married in FI's church in Brooklyn, but bringing in his favorite childhood priest, who is currently assigned to a parish in CT). He just got diagnosed with gum cancer! I feel absolutely awful for him, and I pray that his treatments are successful.
However, this means that he can't do our wedding anymore. We have 17 days to find a new priest.
I'm really hoping one of the priests from the parish I grew up in in Manhattan can help us out. I recently became a parishionor of the parish Jon and his family go to, but I still don't feel totally at home there. I really miss the parish I grew up in, and I'd love if one of the priests there could say our mass.
I'm calling them today as soon as the rectory opens. I'm hoping since I went to mass there for 23 years, plus went to catholic school for 15 years (8 of which were at the parochial school attached to the parish), that they'd be willing to help us out. Otherwise, we can use the pastor who's been doing our pre wedding counseling sessions, but we haven't clicked well.
Please keep me in your thoughts and keep your fingers crossed! And please keep our former priest in your prayers as well!
