I feel for you. I’ve dealt with somewhat bad skin since I was a teenager and I hate it when people comment on my skin. I am scared for the person who says anything to me now while I’m pregnant!

Oh, I’m so sorry your coworker was being insensitive (even if it was just a joke) and I highly doubt they’ll make the same mistake again!

Luckily I haven’t had any overly emotional episodes, but I’ve had more than my fair share of irritable episodes.  I sort of snapped at a coworker last week when she asked me a (sort of stupid) question.  I told her that I didn’t bring my psychic hat with me that day.  I’ve got a sharp tongue to begin with, but my reply came out really sassy.  I then laughed to make it sound like a joke but it was definitely snarkier than I had intended.

@hergreenapples: Aaaw! hugs. I had so many tearful/ snarky episodes as well, but DH learned that it is just hormones, and to just ‘go with the flow’ and be supportive.

@mrshersch74:  I was 11 weeks at my wedding, and I was worried a huge one would come out, as I have (recently) not had the best skin. Luckily I was ok.

@hergreenapples:  It’s funny that you posted this–I have two big pimples right now, thanks to being pregnant.  One is on the bridge of my nose, and one is on the tip.  Totally obvious.

I complained about them to DH this morning, and he said, very carefully, all deer in the headlights like “What’s that Honey?  I didn’t even notice!”

I know he did, of course he did.  But this isn’t our first rodeo, so he knows how it goes.

I’m sorry your coworker did that!  I’m sure it really was just a joke, and she just didn’t realize.  But it will calm down, I promise!

@hergreenapples:  That’s really thoughtful! Sometimes people just say stuff without thinking and never mean any harm!

@hergreenapples:  What could she have possibly said that she thought you’d think was funny? Duh!! Acne is never a funny thing to joke about, like you said it’s like joking about someone being fat.

Love that she got you flowers though, too cute!

So far I haven’t been too emotional, mostly grumpy. Although I watched the episode of greys where *someone* dies (in case some bees are behind.. I don’t want to spoil) RIGHT after I found out I was pregnant.. man I was bawling like a damn baby hahaha.

What kind of plonker makes jokes about someones skin? It’s nice that she bought you some nice flowers, hopefully that makes you feel a bit better 🙂

@hergreenapples:  Haha glad she redeemed herself. My boss’ boss’ boss, who knows I’m pregnant, told me straight up that I’m obviously gaining weight and compared me to one of my (male) coworkers who has been losing weight. Then he realized what a d*ck comment it was and tried to backtrack, and made a joke that I should probably take him to HR. UM… I definitely cried about that this weekend, lol. I’ve been crying a lot about random stuff lately. Oh hormones *sigh*

@hergreenapples:  I wrote about this yesterday, a co-worker of mine commented on my skin (she doesn’t know I am pregnant) And basically was like, “What’s up with your skin?  It’s not looking good”  Today, she said something to me AGAIN about it, and I was like, “I know, before I leave the house in the morning, I do look in the mirror.”  She is like, “I just don’t understand what is up with it.”  Honestly, I felt like saying, it is none of your buisness what is up with my skin, worry about yourself.
