nope just keep trying! you have time to find one. if you are on a budget try a local college, photography students are always needing side jobs
Just keep googling, looking on wedding websites, and yelp. A lot of vendors said they aren't booking really far in advance with how the economy is, so you should be able to find one.
Girl- your wedding is 9 months away that is PLENTY of time. I don't know who you're talking to- but I have yet to come across a photographer I have talked to that is booked and I'm getting married a month after you.
@flutterbi: you have a June date, they book up sooooooooooper doooooper fast! I booked my photographer in April 2011 for April 2012 and she said she was already completely booked for June/July weekends in April of 2011!
I agree with PP who said look at college students- all great photographers were just learning at some point, a lot of people find gold mines in college students!
No. PPl like to book early but you will be amazed how many cancellations happen in a yr. Continue your search and get recommendations from fellow brides. My photog is up-coming and I never doubted my decision to go w/ her than a more established photog.
Check out Yelp, weddingwire.com, projectwedding.com, Google wedding photographers for your area, etc.
I tried all the above and I found Nancy. Soo happy I did because she'll know handle all of our professional photos.
I'm sure you can find a good photographer yet, but don't wait any longer. FI and I booked our photographer in April, I think it was? And we were competing to get our date booked before someone else- we won ;) And a lot of summer dates are booked, June is usually the quickest to go.
Also, although cancellations for your exact date aren't super likely, you could ask the photographers to give you a call if the date does open up.
@squeak35: That's a good point! I hadn't thought of cancellations! Maybe leave your # with those photographers incase people cancel/reschedule!
Where are you located? I can post on some photographer forums for availability in your area and can send you some sites to look at. Also what is your rough budget? (you can PM me this info if you'd like)
Noo, I thnk you've still got time. I didnt book my photog until 4-5 months before my wedding and still had my choice of 3 of my top picks.
I think you are okay, but June does book super fast.

Kara Schultz Storyteller is a Chicago photographer I love and she is SO sweet. If I were getting married in Chicago, that's who I would use!
Also- I found several photographers here on weddingbee who are fantastic but are trying to branch out into destination weddings (anything outside their immediate area) for a discounted rate- PM me if you want details.
Keep looking and do lots of research! You'll find someone I promise. Too late is like a week prior haha.

I've looked through a million sites tonight and contacted a whole bunch and I'm receiving a lot of replys saying they are already booked for my date.
Am I screwed?
