That was an interesting read- thanks for sharing! I am teetering on the wedding/no wedding line right now and this was food for thought 🙂

Oh if only I could just read one article and move on… more than 5 minutes wasted for sure!  But I do enjoy reading these articles, thanks for sharing.

That was an interesting read and I agree with some of the writer’s points. Especially the ones made about money and stress. I told my SO that if we went down to the courthouse tomorrow and tied the knot, I’d be happy. But he’s adamant that we have a wedding, so I guess we’re going to meet in the middle when the time comes to start planning.

@Tarheelgurl:  I’m also the one that’s perfectly fine with just going to the courthouse, but he’s not too keen on it. But mostly, our parents would FLIP. And we like to keep things sane.

Interesting read, though.

I was toying with this idea, too. Then I remembered that when my sister eloped, my mom was planning this whole church wedding for her. Mom didn’t even get to go to their ceremony. We watched her wedding video AT the wedding shower! Months later, they had the church wedding mom planned but I know it still stung. I couldn’t do anything like that to her, it would just be too much.
