Well, I was gonna say dry shampoo, so I’m out of ideas…

I’m not sure if it’s available in Australia or not, but I like Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy, for moisturizing dry scalp.

I figured if my scalp was overproducing oil, it was trying to moisturize itself. It seems to be helping 🙂 anything I tried that was supposed to lessen oil production just seemed to exacerbate the problem.

@Brooke1226:  I would actually try to cut back on the frequency that you wash your hair. I know it sounds counter-productive, but the scalp has natural oils to protect your hair and when you wash it, the oils are stripped out and your body produces a lot more to “keep up” I used to have really greasy hair and was washing it everyday.

I now wash it every 2-3 days with nothing done in between.

Also make sure when you apply conditioner you’re putting it no higher than the nape of your neck. Conditioner is rich in oils and will make your hair worse if you’re applying it to your scalp.

@Brooke1226:  Perhaps you’re using a little too much conditioner? I used to, and thought my was greasy…I was just heavy handed!

Batiste is a good dry shampoo, particularly the one in the pink can 😉

My hair is more on the oily side. I wash it every day because it would get nasty if I didn’t. I can’t use dry shampoo at all–it does absolutely nothing except make my hair more dull than the oil, and my hair would still be oily, limp/flat, and gross.

I use Pureology shampoo and conditioner (currently using the purple/Hydrate line, but I think I’ll switch to the green/Essential Repair line when these are done) and once a week swap out the shampoo for Redken hair cleansing cream (deep cleansing shampoo). I use a hair oil (Organix argan oil or Macadamia Natural Oil healing oil treatment) after I wash my hair and then blow dry. I also heat style every day and use a thermal styling spray.

@Brooke1226:  Yeah I would recommend doing it over a vacation actually, as it will take some time for your hair to adjust, if you just start to skip the dry shampoo it wont be fixed in a weekend, but if you can find a way to wear it up it might help!

I have oily hair and have yet to find a shampoo that helps. I have to wash my hair daily otherwise it gets bad. BUT I just got this new product-Living Proof Primer and yesterday was the first day I went to work without washing my hair the night before and it looked good! You put it on damp hair and it doesn’t feel greasy or anything. I love it.
