The Peter Thomas Roth products work for me.  ESPECIALLY love their moisturizer/sunscreen for oily skin.  Cuts down on my shine a TON…AND provides protection.  I can’t leave the door w/o sunscreen so I love it.

I’ve had oily skin since puberty. Let me share my yeeeearssss of experience that has finally gotten things under control:

– Cetaphil for oil skin – I use this in the shower in the morning

– Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

– Toner morning and night (I switch it up, buying them from Walmart – they all seem to work about the same)

– Bare Escentuals makeup – including the primer – this has made such a difference!

– Keep hair off face (I wear my hair up most days or the hair gets oily and my hair line breaks out)

Honestly the 2 best things I did for my skin (also oily) were to STOPPPPPP using oil-free products and to put my hair up at night so it wasn’t touching my face as I slept (shampoo/conditioner residue, hair products, etc). The oil-free thing might not make sense because with oily skin you think “I don’t want products with oil in them” BUT the more you deprive your skin of oil the more it PRODUCES (my dr. informed me of this). So when I started using gentle cleaners that weren’t oil-free it made a huge difference.

okay this sounds weird, but google ‘milk of magnesia for oily skin’ and read what it comes up with.

i have a bottle ordered – just waiting for it to arrive!

I use peroxide on a cotton ball about twice a day. I know it sounds harsh, but it works better then any toner I’ve tried (including Proactiv). Also, my skin stays less oily if I’m wearing makeup. No idea why. I use the airbrush Dior makeup, maybe it is something about it.

I have about the oiliest (not sure if that’s a word) skin in the world and here is what I do…:

I never ever use astringent because it causes more oil to appear because it shocks your skin into producing more oil.

For moisture I use Clean and Clear Finished Mattifying Moisturizer before I put my make up on and after i wash my face at night

Make up I just started using Aveda powder foundation which is meant to be light on your skin and not clog your pores with is perfect for oily skin.

Hope that’s helpful! Good luck!
