Or at least you favorites from it. I’m 36 and very into 80s music but I”m not sure if most of my songs (especially the slow ones) are too cheesy and if people will roll their eyes the whole wedding…
Share your playlists please! I need ideas!

Not 30 something (29) but my Darling Husband is, and I am not sure if the peoples age getting married matters as much as the age of your guest list. Ours was largely family that ranged all ages, but I would say the most of them were 30 and older.
Are you hiring a DH? if you are, he should be professional enough to read the crowd and see what songs are getting them up and dancing.
If you arent, then you may want to keep to the more traditional wedding songs that are general favorites to ensure a good dancing time.
P.S. I love cheesy 80s songs.

@lefeymw:I’m hiring a DJ but he asked for a list of do’s and don’ts and then he’ll fill in the blanks. I’m pretty selfish with my music though LOL! I have a feeling my “do’s” list may be extensive….

I’m in my early 30’s. We don’t have a playlist yet but I know I don’t want line dancing music. Filipino weddings tend to have line dancing of some sort (todo todo, electric slide, etc.) I love doing the electric slide but I don’t think I want it in my wedding.
If you love 80’s music, you should have a few 80’s songs thrown in there. But make sure to mix it up so that everyone gets a chance to boogie on the dance floor.

I’m with ya girlfriend.. NO line dancing and preferably no chicken dance type of thing (though I guess the kids would enjoy it)….

I am a 80’s baby. My DJ will be playing a variety of music, line dances, spanish music, 80’s dance music. I just want my family and friends to have a wonderful time dancing and having a blast.

We let our DJ handle most of the music as I was very confident he would know best.
I really wanted a 90’s theme wedding reception dance (LOVE 90’s on 9) but my husband wasn’t a fan. SO…I was able to have a 30-40 min set of 90’s club/dance hits. I compiled a list of my favorite 90’s club hits and had my DJ mix them. He only played about 2-3min of each song before he mixed into the next. It was the BEST part of the evening and all our firends loved it and were on the floor. Smartest move I did.
