So this is a follow up to the Catering By Design post that I put up about a month ago. As your reviews stated, they have been very disappointing and despite my understanding through these massive amounts of snow, I'm feeling a little uneasy. My next bet if Feastivities. This will be the third catering company I am getting a quote from and I'm hanging on your words.... Do we LOVE them? I am EXTREMELY picky and I'm worried that no one is going to live up to what I would like. I have a close friend that has LOVED working with them but I thought that their deposit schedule seemed a little strange. I am planning very far in advance and the deposit schedule has you paying for the majority within the first 2 months. Are they responsive? How are their prices? Are they flexible? Any insight to the deposit schedule for a wedding that is still two years away? Any info would help as the hive was right about the previous caterer....

Hi. I met with Feastivities because they were on my venues caterer list. At first they seemed amazing. Sweet and good price. But then right before I was ready to book the price jumped close to 10k. They said because they didnt realize 12/31/2011 was a holiday: New Years Eve. I understand needing to pay staff holiday charges and told them I would be fine with holiday charges (my originaly proposal said 20 bucks per staff member) but this would equal around 600 a staff member...I highly doubt it. I emailed back with a few more questions and never heard from them again. No follow ups. No responses. Nothing. I really hated 1) having the price jacked up like that and 2) them not answering my emails or calls after I had questions about them raising the price. So I decided to go with a different caterer.

i havent used them personally but this post caught my attention because our groomsman Jack's sister was just hired by them. She interned there during college and offered her a full time position. We hired her (independantly of feastivities) to be our DOC

I'm using Kevin McFadden of Lakeside catering in gibbsboro NJ and hes giving us a great deal. totally flexible and can't do enough for us. We're using his wife as our travel agent as well.
