Ok, i’ll bite!!

I’m having a backyard wedding in central MA in late June.  Do you have recommendations for keeping mosquitoes under control?

I’ve asked other bees but you may have experience with this….get cups sewn into the dress, or wear a corset bra?!

Hey Pheebes,

My FI and I are unable to afford lighting for our wedding but would really like to add purple and blue lighting to our wedding. The top of our flower vases are to small to put any lights into them. How else can we add the coloring that we would like? Colored votives maybe? We don’t want to take away from our beautiful centerpieces. Do you have any suggestions and know of any good websites to purchase from? My wedding is 3 weeks away.

I  have less of a wedding question, and more of a career question. I am half way through an Interpersonal Communications degree. I am trying to decide between a career in non-profit events managing and wedding coordinating. Can you tell me a little bit about how to get into it, how competitive is it, and anything else you can think of to help me make my mind!

@Phebelasha: Do you know of any good, relatively LOW priced websites for buying candy in bulk?

If you need to know the type of candy, I’ll PM you the idea we have. 🙂  (I’m hoping to keep this a secret even from the Hive in case it doesn’t pan out…)

Here’s a question: Is it a bad choice to decide to get ready at home?  I went back and forth for months trying to decide on having all the girls get ready at my condo (15 min from church) vs. getting ready at church.  I want to crank my music!  But there’s weather to worry about… Ultimately I decided to do the former, so we could all travel in style (limo!) to the wedding, but people have said this may not be the best option.  Too late now, but I just wanted to get your take.

Thanks for the advice about the strapless bras!  I almost did this!  (First fitting is next week.)

@Phebelasha: Our centerpieces are high-low alternating. The high centerpieces are 16 ” with a 3″ riser. The lip of the vase is very small and they will have purple, blue, and ivory flowers flowing off the top. Out table will have the centerpieces and blue napkins.
