OK Bees – I tried on 50 dresses before I found “the” dress which was nothing like I had ever pictured myself in but I love it – I look at pictures and I think how pretty . . . EXCEPT
I originally fell in love with really elaborate trains and my other 2 top choices had much more interesting (for lack of a better word) trains. However the dress I purchase looked awesome on and I kind of forgot about the train. Now that it has been a couple of weeks I cannot remember how I looked in the dress – I just have a bit of train envy – I was wondering if I should call the store and ask about having it lengthened or just leave it and enjoy it being pretty and light.
I think the right answer is to leave it, my ceremony site is very small and I think a bigger train might be a problem . . . So votes or comments appreciated – I hate that we buy these so far in advance and then have MONTHS to fret . . .
The ceremony site
Dress 2 – Maggie Sottero Maxine
Dress 3 – Enzoani Arabella

If you want to leave it, leave it. Or you could call the store and ask about having it lengthened at least a little to ease your mind. = )

Just get a long cathedral veil and that will give extra length to the whole look.

Another option is to get a cathedral length veil which might be cheaper than actually lengthening the train. But think about this, the ceremony is probably 30 min max and then you bustle it.

leave the train as is and get a cathedral length veil. they’re less than $100 on etsy.

I would like to join the “Get a super glam long veil” camp. It’s the perfect way to have ALL the drama and none of the bustling 🙂

I love the super glam veil with the really simple dresses and/or beautiful ballgowns but afraid with all that is going on with this dress and it being narrow it might look funny.
I have emailed the store to see if there is any options to the train and my FI has suggested that I go back and try it on again if I have any doubts. I do not want to be a 2 dress bride but on the other hand I do not want to be sad on my wedding day – this is my second wedding and last LOL

Your dress is beautiful and it is so much more than just a train! I vote for keeping it as is.
I’ve also seen severl cathedral length veils that are unembellished until the bottom edge. I think that might really work well for your situation.

Why don’t you go for a veil that’s slightly longer than your train? That way you get the feel of a long train during the ceremony, but you don’t have this big thing in the way all night long?

I’m also in the camp of the the dress as is and get a long train. I think it would look beautiful with your dress!

i think a long train might overpower the venue. your dress is stunning, and it doesn’t need a long train! it is GORGEOUS!

I agree with the cathedral length veil idea. It’s a lovely dress as it is.

I agree with the cathedral veil idea as well as it will give the illusion of a longer train. 🙂 Gorgeous dress by the way!

A longer train would ruin the look of the dress. I’d go with your instinct and leave it as is; chalk another one up for the cathedral length veil instead.
