We sent out save-the-dates in January (destination wedding so we needed a bit more notice than usual!).

Ordered invites/RSVP cards/etc.  Those will go out in late July with a RSVP by date of Sept 1.

No clue when my fittings will be – my dress isn’t in yet.  I haven’t found shoes yet either, so that’s at the top of my priority list.  I did get all my jewelry for it already though!

I got my wedding ring, we need to get FI’s this summer.

Need to order FI’s attire.

Need to decide on groomsman’s gifts and one last bridesmaid’s gift.

Need to put together welcome bags.

Need to write the ceremony (my dad’s doing it but we’re writing it)…this is my biggest source of stress.

Need to get some small decorations together for the tables for the reception.

Need to schedule audio equipment for the DJ (a friend of ours is doing it).

Need to schedule hair stylists for that morning.

Need to do a test run sometime in August with my friend who’s doing makeup, and a test run with my hairstylist at home to take lots of pictures for the hairstylist day-of.

Need to order a bow tie and new leash for the pup 🙂

Other than that…just making payments to the planner and collecting guest money for their stay in the beach house.  I feel like this is just too easy but we’re doing it so simply that there isn’t much work to be done.

October 4 wedding for me!

We have a lot done, but also a lot left to do. Now it comes to all of the small details that are actually proving more stressful than anything else. Here’s what I still have to figure out (total stream of consiousness, no particular order):

  • tasting at venue (scheduled for May 15)
  • book wedding night hotel
  • book transportation to wedding night hotel
  • play-lists and do-not-play list for DJ
  • bridesmaid jewelry (anybody know where to get decent pearls for not a ton of $$?)
  • clean labels off and paint wine bottles for centerpieces
  • buy 10″ round mirrors for centerpieces (again, anybody know where to get these for cheap?)
  • buy candles for tables
  • bridesmaid gifts
  • groomsmen gifts
  • parents gifts
  • FI gift
  • fittings (dress is in, but I’m waiting until later in the summer for fittings)
  • find my jewelry (might be borrowing from FI’s aunt)
  • marriage license (duhhhh)
  • order envelopes for invites
  • assemble invites
  • have envelopes addressed
  • buy fabric for draping in front of head table
  • confirm music with church
  • confirm hotel blocks and add that info to website
  • have groomsmen/dads/grandfathers order tuxes
  • finish asking cousins to perform their roles
  • find wedding shoes
  • find rehersal dinner dress

Holy crap on a cracker….. that’s a lot of stuff and I know I’m forgetting something. I will not freak out, I will not freak out, I WILL NOT FREAK OUT.

Luckily my bachelorette party and shower are surprises so I’m not even close to worried about them.

SarahTee:  Honestly my ring was SO easy!  I just walked into a jewelry store, tried things on, and loved one – done and done.

Maybe I’m just not picky enough but I found it really easy and an enjoyable check off my list!

I am so behind.  I haven’t booked my officiant, therefor do not have a wedding “start time” (I’d like to know how long the ceremony is going to be first) and I don’t have invites even picked out yet.  I’m flipping out over here I don’t have a florist, anyone to do my hair or makeup, no cake, etc.  I’m so disorganized but it will all come together fine i’m sure.

On the plus side my wedding dress came in yay! I go to try it on next week

ebarnes0:  FI and I have gone to the jewelers 3 times already and neither of us can make up our minds, haha. It’s pathetic. Every time we go we change our minds. It’s what I’ve been the most indecisive about, which is so unlike me, because I usually jump on making decisions. I can’t decide if I want something that goes exactly with my engagement ring (which means it would have to be custom b/c bead set isn’t common apparently) or if I want something totally different. I guess I’m pickier than I thought I was!

*end of thread jack, haha*

October 11th!

We’ve already been engaged for over a year so we got a lot done right away!

Just sent our save the dates a few weeks ago!  We already had the website with wedding details, menu, accomodations, registry information all included.  Guests already have all of the information they need which was my goal.

Invitations still need to be ordered and then made.  I also need to make my favors (small jars of homemade pickles) and I reallyyyy need to get cracking on my block for my guest book quilt- I haven’t even started them yet!  I have other random projects to complete, like the bridesmaids bouquets and some signage.  I also have some more bottles to buy that I’m using for my centerpieces.

I’m feeling good about where we are but I start getting stressed when I realize how fast time is flying by!!!

October 25th here! We are waiting on our STDs and invite designs that should come this week. I still need to do the ceremony (future aunt is officiating), music, gifts, finalize menu and print menus, print place cards (flowers to put on it are made), buy booze, make welcome bags, make table numbers, and figure out rehearsal dinner. I am also involved in the shower since it is a destination shower so to speak, between my family and FI’s family.

Major stuff done:

Ceremony and Reception Venue Booked

DJ and Photographer Booked

Limos chosen (just need to put the deposit down)

Dress Bought–comes in early July—alterations booked for when I get into town 2 weeks before wedding

My accessories bought (all except veil–which I know what I want, just need to get it) and undergarments( will buy when we get back to the states)

Bridesmaids dresses-the girls are taking care of this–I’ll buy their jewelry to match once they’ve picked the dresses

Makeup artist/trial booked—probably same person for hair—

Wedding nite hotel booked

Menu decided (reception venue does the catering–just need to decide on bar; signature drinks (we supply our own booze)

FLights to/from US for the wedding booked

Have appointments this weekend for rings and fiance’s outfit

Have emailed 3 vendors for cake quotes

To Do:

choose order, and send invites

set up website and honeymoom registry

choose florist and decide on centrepieces, bouquets, etc

finalize the cake, rings, grooms attire –and anything else we have already started

order the rest of our wedding stationary

finalise ceremony music and readings

book honeymoon

We’re planning long distance so I’m not really worried about the nit picky details.  I’m just going to give the florist and cake shop a budget, colour theme, and ideas and let them run with it.  I can’t stress over little things.

Its sort of good being far away—It forces me to prioritize and realise what’s really important–marrying my best friend in front of all the people we love the most, who I hardly get to see anymore.  We’ll have a beautful ceremony, a kick ass reception where we can all eat fabulous food, loosen up with some fantastic cocktails, dance to great music, all being captured by an awesome photographer! 🙂

We just sent out Save The Dates last weekend. We are both musical and we make goofy video clips so we combined those hobbies into a goofy music video Save the date. It was so much fun, and so us 🙂 <br /> <br /> My first fitting is in August. It’s forever away! I can’t wait though 🙂 <br /> <br /> According to the knot checklist, I am 67% done with wedding stuff. Yeah. I’m actually taking a class for work and only have Saturdays to do wedding stuff so I’m a bit stressed right now. But it’s all good.<br /> <br /> Projects coming up:<br /> – book hotel night<br /> – order cake topper
