@jb20:  I am so with you there.  I totally dislike Cody.  I also don’t really like Robyn and Mary – but love Christine and Jenelle.  My husband hates the show lol

I watched the first season and a few random episodes after, but the episode where he took his first wife out to dinner and they got in a big fight about whether or not she would try again for a baby just made me sick to my stomach. I just couldn’t deal with the entrenched sexism.

@jb20:  I love Jenelle and Christine!! I can’t even tolerate the others.

I wish Jenelle and Christine would just be sister wives to each other and leave Meri Robyn and Cody to their own devices.

I would love to see them leave and make it on their own. I think they would be better off- they would likely have the same amount of ‘support” from the other 3 without the drama!!

Lol I strongly dislike Kody. He comes across as such a douche.

I don’t know… I think the relationships are complex. I wouldn’t say the wives hate each other, but yeah, sometimes when I watch the show I’m like WHY DO THEY EVEN BOTHER?!!?!?

I like Janelle. She is sassy and knows what she wants.

Usually I just put it on for background noise, but the last episode I watched with Truely almost dying… OMG I almost started crying even though I saw online that she wouldn’t die.

@jb20:  I’ve only seen a few brief clips, so I honestly can’t comment on this specific family. I don’t watch because I’m not religious and anything that seems heavy on religion doesn’t really appeal to me (barring the History Channel programs; some of them can be really interesting).

I will say that I’m ok with plural marriage, so long as all the participants are legally capable of consenting and are fully aware of the fact that it will be a plural marriage. It isn’t something I would ever choose for myself because I wouldn’t want to deal with the jealousy and upset feelings. . . but if it’s the right choice for another adult I’m not going to stop them.

I find the show fascinating. I actually really like all of the wives and find the idea of plural marriage interesting and somewhat appealing (although not for the religious aspect of it.) I think it would be super hard to have a family with that many people in it! Rewarding when things were going well, and a struggle when they weren’t.

@jb20:  The whole show is just bizarre.  These women defy what is truly natural – to yearn to have one mate.  It’s human nature to be jealous should another woman get your husband’s attention and yet they all insist they’re not and that theyLIKE when their husband is sleeping with the other wives bevause it is “healthy” for them all.  Totally and utterly bizarr-o.

@jb20:  I watch the show. I think its interesting because it is so different than my own life. I couldn’t share a guy like that, but they are all consenting adults. To each their own.

I used to like the show but as the seasons go by, it seems they are all miserable. They  are living in separate houses, do not seem to like each other, are jealous of the time apart, etc.

Kody is a tool. It’s obvious his ranking order of favorite to least favorite is Robyn, Meri, Janelle then Christine. I don’t know if adding Robyn into the family so far into the other marriages is what is pulling them apart or if it’s the move to Las Vegas. I get the feeling that Janelle and Christine just don’t give a shit anymore, Robyn is still in the honeymoon phase and Meri thinks that as the first and legal wife, she is the most important and the matriach.

I would love to see Janelle and Christine defect and go somewhere together. Janelle is so strong and Christine seems so vulnerable.
