Did you post a picture? If so, I can't see it. However, have you thought about getting a colored sash instead of a belt?
First of all, what about colored shoes? That might make it feel totally special. Otherwise, what about a brooch? A colorful bolero or wrap? What about a colorful bouquet with it?
Also, dye a crinoline!!! That way, you've got your dose of color, just peeking from underneath. Good luck!
Need to see a pic, but a colored sash you be beautiful - I love the look of a sash that ties aroung the waist with a bow in the back, going all the way down the the floor. Also, remember the jewelry you'll be wearing - a sparkly necklace or some huge dangly earrings can really spice things up, I think!

oh! very pretty. your dress is kind of like mine. ok so i added a broach to my belt but it looks like your already has bling. what about a belero? what about dying your sash? colored shoes? somethign unique in your hair?
i think it's very pretty. if you have a blingie bracelet and some jewelry it would jazz it up a bit and still be within your budget (check claire's)
I see... Could you get it hemmed a little shorter and get a crinoline that's dyed to peek out from the bottom? That would jazz it up a ton, and bring in the color! Also, don't forget shoes or flowers... and what kind of veil are you going for? If you're going for a birdcage, consider having a brightly colored flower/brooch fascinator.
And what about some statement jewelry--big pieces that really bring something to the dress?
Good luck!
I think that it is very pretty!! With the dress being more simple, it will give you the opportunity to dress it up with some awesome jewelry. I love it and think that it is very flattering on you! Feel good about it, it looks fab!
That is a beautiful dress. I don't think it is plain at all. I think you will feel better about it once you see it all together. Maybe with a veil, some colored shoes & your flowers, BEAUTIFUL!
We all have some 2nd thoughts about our dresses, so you aren't alone in your thoughts. Don't worry, whatever you choose, you are going to look absoultly beautiful on your wedding day & your FI will love you. He is marrying you, not the dress.
It is pretty. I agree with the PP's, colored shoes or crinoline. Or statement jewelry!
Thanks so much guys. My mom just caught me thinking about it and asked me if I was sure I loved it. When I explained it all to her she brought out her jewelry and we went through. My dad also just gave me an early graduation gift of a saphire so now i feel like I have the perfect jewelry... and that my dress is pretty.
I am getting alterations because the dress is so long and I'm hoping pretty flowers will finish it off!
=) Yay! It sounds like you are feeling much better now!!! You will be beautiful!
What type of veil are you planning to wear? Maybe something with some crystals or sparkle to mimic the detail of the waistband?
I tihnk it looks gorgeous! But you could definately add a flower (colored maybe?) to the belt, but what about also adding a wide ribbon under the belt to add a pop of color I think would really make it pop for minimal expense!
Something like these (but with your belt over it)

I second the idea of a colorful bolero! One like this would go great with your sapphire
I don't think it's plain at all. It has more bling than my dress. I can't tel exactly what the embellishment looks like but you might consider pinning a simple white organza flower off to the side. I really don't think you need much.
I didn't think about a color belt under mine, that would definitely work and I love the bolero. It is beautiful.
I'm falling more in love with it now that I have the bag hanging in my room. I just keep staring at it and thinking that *I* am getting marred.
Once it is altered and fits you perfectly it probably won't need anything...some fun shoes and blingy jewlery maybe?
You could get a cute bolero on etsy- many vendors offer them in white OR colors. That would be a great way to add color and a little sass!!!!
(ps your dress is VERY similar to mine! I love it!)
I LOVE the belts that *ooolibelulaooo* posted!!!! i think one of those belts would absolutely transform that dress into a showcase piece!!
I LOVE KACEY!!! i am in talks with her right now getting a belt made for my dress!!

I just got my dress, not even 2 hours ago. I went to a store that specialized in plus sizes and that I also had a 20% coupon off of. The only issue is that uh.. its kinda plain. I have body issues and feel like this dress really flatters me. It looks better with the belt, a lot better, but I'm still missing the color. I had a very small budget, about $500.00 with alterations and lucked out by paying less than 300 with the belt being a gift. Because of my budget, I originally was looking at colored dresses, and because I wanted something unique. I've got this one but I keep going back and forth. It's like ping-pong in my head. Is it beatiful? yes, Will my fiance think its too plain? Maybe...
What do you think, and what can I do to spice it up. I also have a headband on but you can't tell it that much in the picture.
