    weddding: august 20

    still need to do:

    • design, print and trim place cards
    • type up seating chart in list form (boo, boring)
    • design, print table numbers (I have to illustrate a different bird for each one, the tables are named after birds)
    • design, print sign talking about our charitible donation (in lieu of favors, because I'm so lazy, I'd rather donate money to charity than stuff almonds into fussy little bags.)
    • make said charitible donation
    • make fabric flowers for dress and hair
    • FI needs to finish ipod mix for rehearsal dinner party

I wish I started on my creative projects sooner! good thing I'm a graphic designer, at least there will be no learning curve!

    what do you have left?

Ugh. Most of our signage. Programs. Menus. Some decor elements.

    Gaaah!!

sounds like you and me are pretty much on the same page.

do you feel free to let anything go? I opted out of programs. I just don't want to, they can't make me!

I was going to do menus too (just two, in a frame on the bar) but since it's a buffet, I don't have to. so I might skip it.

I've gotta assemble programs, stuff welcome bags, trim place cards, buy some disposable stuff for welcome dinner (think rehearsal dinner but we invited all out of town people and made it super-informal), talk to caterer for welcome dinner.  I still haven't made a decision on wedding jewelry but at least my mom has some options to borrow.  I was hoping I'd see a necklace I liked and it would be my wedding gift from FI (we are pretty open about what we want for gifts and getting those things for each other).

Next week we're supposed to talk to the photographer and the band on the phone.  I figure we need to get our act together and get a more detailed timeline in place before talking with them - I've bookmarked the one from Ms. Candy Corn http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/08/13/wedding-weekend-timeline/

    @janie-janie:

THIS made me LOL at my desk, mostly because that is exacty me.

"I'm so lazy, I'd rather donate money to charity than stuff almonds into fussy little bags."

This also prompted a LULZ mental image of someone literally fumbling almonds into a shiesty little bag. Still laughing!

    Wedding: Aug 20th

    Stuff left to do:

    • pick up my dress/veil (which I do today after work eeeep!)
    • take my ring to get cleaned (doing tomorrow)
    • buy stuff for candy buffet (doing tomorrow)
    • pay rest of vendors (salon, makeup, flowers, restaurant, cake) (fi is doing next week)
    • finish writing ceremony (we started last night and hope to finish tonight)
    • find a god damn metal bath thingy that I have searched for EVERYWHERE to put water bottles in at the ceremony
    • buy said water bottles
    • buy food for rehersal dinner (we are doing a bbq)
    • buy wine/drinks for "after party"
    • narrow down what song I am dancing to with my dad
    • Make donation and sign for donations

I think that is pretty do-able. Luckily I am not having programs, place cards, seating chart or menus (MIGHT actually make the menus depending on time).

I am SUPER excited now!!!!!! I keep getting butterflies!

janie-janie: Ugh. It's a full Catholic mass, so I think a program is kind of a must - masses are long, and with lots of stuff going on!

Reception is a month away, thank GOD!

    I still have to:

Get the ceremony wording and music choices to the officiant

    Buy a damn slip

Print out hair picture inspiration for hairdresser ( I hope she can work wonders)

Get hair trimmed and eyebrows WAXED (they are huge)

And pack, pack, and some more packing - hoping I don't forget anything!

    Hi Bees!

    i am 8/27

Unfortunatly I went like a lunitic for the last 8 months, sooooo I am completly finished and bored out of my freaking mind! I even went to the extent of seperating and labeling each box so the venue knows exactly what goes where (kind of a fanatic:)

my biggest worry is the weather. This is the first year Pa has had tornados and I am so afraid teh rain wont hold off!

@tranquility: Have you looked on amazon.com for the metal bowl thingys?

     http://www.amazon.com/Package-Small-Galvanized-Metal-Vintage/dp/B003ETBHTW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313179928&sr=8-1

Try that link.  If you don't like the one that pops up, there are tons of others in different sizes and prices farther down the page in "customers who viewed this page also viewed."

    @jotasevic: almost indeed!! So exciting!

This afternoon I am going to sew our ring pillows (need two).
I still need to work out the seating arrangements, and make sure I have people's +1s' names, and then find an easy way to tell people where they are sitting

Thats almost all the major things worked out. I wanted to make a sign of some kind for the top of the driveway and to direct people out towards the space... And maybe one to indicate where to park. Maybe, but I need wood or something to do that.

Oh, and I pick up my dress tomorrow!!!!!

I still have lots to do! But I think it'll be doable. I'm at work until next Tuesday though! Hopefully I can get almost everything finished this weekend.

I was going to write my list out here... but I'm afraid it's a little too stressful! lol

    Good luck everyone!

    Pick up groomsmen's gifts
Go to the flower wholesaler for the flowers for our pew arrangements
Go to Hobby Lobby and get ribbon/pearl pins for the bouquets
Test the sound system for our chapel to make sure the sound is loud enough
Pick up my engagement ring which we FINALLY gave to FMIL to get resized last month and I've been without it! (So excited about getting it back.)
Pick up tables and chairs for the rehearsal dinner.
Pick up food for the rehearsal dinner.
Have FI and groomsmen try on tuxes and make sure everything fits so we don't have to get the store to order anything different before Saturday.
Make a reception seating chart--- only just today finalized my numbers and seating chart.
