Because not only did I say ‘yes’ to the dress, but I am in love with it! (sorry Fiance )
I should have known my dress would be my dream dress because my weekend was off to a great start already. The jeweler called and my ring came back 5 days early and was ready for pick up. Which means I would have it back in time for dress shopping.. yay!
I picked up my ring and it looks A-mazingggg! And it fits perfectly. I will do a ring porn shoot tomorrow. This is a brand new ring and a long story for another day.
Today I went out with my BFF and Mum to one of two places that carry the Alfred Angelo line her in my city. It was pouring rain/sleeting and hailing at points.. what fun! But my ring was shining, life was good.
The shop was pretty quiet luckily so I didn’t wait at all. I asked for the gown I came for. The AA 2034. They had it in an ivory size 12! Mamma mia! It was huge!
The dress was amazing! I loved it as much as I thought I would. Even being as huge as it was. They pin the dress at this salon, which I had never heard of, so they couldn’t get it as snug as it would be in real life. I have such a weird body. My measurements were a size 3 on the hips, 6 in the waist and a whopping 10 on the bust! Damn those DD’s! 🙁
I ended up ordering in the middle put my money down right away. I have 4 long months to wait until I get to see her again.
I’m not sure if this is normal, but the alterations seemed ridiculously inexpensive!
Bustle – $20
Hem – $30
Taking in down sides – $50
Cups with extra boning – $5!!
So here is my baby (picture mine in white… minus lines of pins that are down the sides)

Those alterations are less than what I had to pay for mine. The entire bodice of mine had to be taken in because it was huge. It doesn’t sound like a bad deal with how much you are going to need the hips and waist taken in to fit your bust.

GIRL! Beautiful!!! You’re beaming. Definitely the right choice.

I wasn’t aware that a size 10 was “whopping” or a size 12 “huge” but nice dress anyway.

@Amaryllis:I was thinking the same thing :/

Um… when you need to try one several sizes smaller, it does seem whopping when slipping into it, yes, not to mention I’m a midget height to boot.
Just like a size 18 would say a tiny size 6, if that was the sample they were expected to try on.
I think you’re being a tad sensitive

Seriously, leave the drama out of my dress thread please guys. I have no ill will against anyones size.

Beautiful dress! Those aren’t bad prices for alterations at all.

@Oneeleven: :-/ I think it’s beautiful 🙂 Congrats on finding it! Can’t wait to see it fitted, it’ll look even MORE pretty.

Thanks guys 🙂 I am thrilled I am done the shopping already but kind of sad I won’t get to dress shop anymore in a way.
It was fun!

Let me clarify again because i understand expressing being disappointed the sample was so big for my midget body came across as me insulting Bees who are the sample size, I wasn’t.
I also said “my weird shaped body”. Size ten on top when your 7 sizes smaller on the bottom? Not fun. Its a pain in the ass and i hate having this problem and am really insecure about it.
A Bee has kindly pointed out that my post seemed insulting. It wasn’t meant to be, except really against myself.
What was supposed to be a a happy post has been a bit dashed for me.
I’d delete the thread if i could.
I’m starting to be really disheartened with the Bee lately.

@Oneeleven: It’s been a little snarky lately, but I think that comes and goes. Well, snarky might not be the right word…but you know what I mean. 🙂 I still love it because there are a core group of bees I talk to and seek advice/support from. They keep me comin’ back! Don’t let it get you down. We know you didn’t mean it to be snarky or hurtful. We all have our body issues!

I know its the f-ing internet but Im seriously crying right now. I don’t understand how me feeling overwhelmed because the sample was too big is any different from someone feeling the sample is too small for them.
I have the same fears and doubts about myself because Im short and have stupid huge boobs and no ass.
I thought I would get some love here as us Bees are mostly here for the same reason.. wedding stuff but I get shot down.
But please don’t think I don’t appreciate the nice comments. I’ve already bought the dress so Im stuck with it now. so at least you make me feel okay about that.
sorry, I don’t mean to get all emotional.

@Oneeleven: awww please don’t be so hard on yourself! You are beautiful! Some of us just have different proportions than others. I know I can never find jeans that fit my ass because I think every designer believes women have juicy ones. And I know this isn’t the same but I hope you realize that you are truly beautiful…no matter what size you are. 🙂
