I love the vintage style shoes, *swoon*, but the dress is stunning how it is.  You might ask them if they can but a really low bubble bustle all the way around the dress.  I know it can be done because that is what they are doing with mine, but it might take just the right person to do it.  Then you can lift up the dress later for the reception and still show off your shoes.

I don’t think it would look strange, but I think it will look better with the dress as is. It just lays so nicely that I think doing anything to it might take away from the beauty of it. Maybe make sure to have your photog take some really great shoe shots!

Yes, I would also be reluctant to change the dress. You can take really cute pics lifting the dress up to show your shoes, etc…

I’d leave the dress as is, people will still see your shoes! They will peek out during the night, especially when you dance. Plus you could get some great shoe shots with your photographer. I must say I LOVE LOVE LOVE your dress! Do you mind sharing the designer?

The dress and shoes go together really nicely but I would leave the dress as is. Maybe you can get some “shoe pics” and do the garter toss so all of your guests will see them then Wink

i think it would look extremely strange to shorten the dress. the dress is gorgeous as is — don’t ruin it! wear the shoes and lift up the dress for some pictures or to show them off.

I agree with previous posters. Your dress is absolutely stunning, and I’d hate for alterations to change it just to see the shoes. Even though I LOVE your choice for shoes. 🙂 Take the advice of other posters—plan some shoe pics, etc to make them seen and in your photos.
