    So I have been thinking about getting a second wedding band around valentines day for the other side of my solitaire. So I started looking on Pompeii3 & seen they had settings on there for an amazing price. Then I finally found one that can be made custom to fit my size marquise & it has bead set diamonds going down the band. My wedding band has bead set so I thought it would be perfect. I messaged them & they told me they would do the costum job for free because my stone isn't larger! They also have a video, so I could see what it looked like in real life.

    Its not that I don't LOVE my solitaire. I do, I REALLY do. I just also love the look of solitaires with extra sparkle on the side. So I am stuck.

    Should I keep my set as is, get the new setting or get another band for the other side.

    BTW, I am still not 100% sold on a second band for the other side. Because I would want my second band to match my current one completely as I for myself don't like the look of the second band being different. BUT I want my wedding band to be special all on its own & stand out.

    There is a poll, vote please.

    Here is the setting, 14k gold & bead set diamonds: (Its $219 retail at $590.)

    I really really like your set as it is now!  Would the bead-set diamond ring be a band to go on the other side or would it also have your solitaire stone and would replace your current e-ring?  I'm a little confused...

    I like the new setting, but not in addition to your current set.  It would look really nice with your current wedding band if that's what your plan is.

    I love your ring and I LOVE solitaires as well (I have one!) but I'm always up for extra sparkle. I think you should either stick with the setting you have now and add another wedding band on top just like the one you have now or you should have the band of your engagement ring match your wedding band. I'm with you, while I really love to see mismatched sets, I don't like them for myself. Whatever you choose, though will be just lovely! Good luck!

    I have to say, my first thought was "Nooooooo!"  I absolutely love your current set, and think it looks perfect on you!  Of course, the final call is up to you, but I definitely voted keep it as is!

    @piglet_625: The plan would be to get my marquise set in the new setting with bead diamonds with just my current diamond wedding band not another one added.

    @Mrs.Estep: Got ya! :)  I am sleepy, so I didn't read your original post correctly but that makes sense!

    I would either stay with the original setting or go with the new setting.  Both are lovely choices and I think you would have difficulty finding a band that matches but still have your wedding band stand out like you were saying.

    @JM1217: That is where I am stuck. I just love my solitaire... LOVE IT! But I also really love solitaires with diamonds on the band. Ive always loved both. Its so hard to pick. I have alot of time a few months. So I figured I would let the bees help me decide until then. :-)

    As for me I love the mismatched look! Thats why I love my solitaire with my diamond band. :P But I saw that setting & just thought it was gorgeous & couldn't believe it had bead set diamonds which matches my wedding band, that could actually fit my marquise in it. Sigh. lol

    Do you know the thickness of the new setting?  I don't know, I personally love it the way it is.  It just looks so fancy and delicate.  If I didn't already have a band in mind that I just LOVE, I would probably consider one like yours to get that look. Laughing

    @FutureBaker: The width of the new setting is 2mm with .15 ctw on the diamonds. So its delicate. But I understand COMPLETELY what you are saying. I just love the way my rings look together. I think they look so elegant. But I fell in love with that setting on pompeii3 & now can't decide. :/

    My wedding band is 2mm, btw. I think my e-ring is right under 2mm.

    I think you appear to be someone who likes variety. Rather than resetting your solitaire, why not look for a wrap similar to the reset you're considering. Then you could change it up now and then.  Keeping the solitaire allows you to stack so in the future you can continue to collect thin bands while always maintaining your set.

    @blingbling: I was going to do that. But I can't really find one that would look nice with my marquise where its at .20-.22 carat. It would have a huge gap in between my diamond & the wraps diamonds. :/

    @Mrs.Estep:  Hm, so they would be equal in size.  I can't help. LOL!  I am a little curious to see what it would look like.  Maybe you can check out jewelry stores and see if you can find one similar to it to see what it would look like with your band?  Then you can really decide.  I just LOVE solitaires and how yours looks with the band.

    Here is a mock up I made a while back for fun. I cropped my diamond out of a picture & pasted it on a picture where I was wearing just my wedidng band to see what it would look like:

    @FutureBaker: lol I am very curious myself. :P I have never really seen a marquise ring before with diamonds down the band in jewelry stores before. Unless they had a halo, so I couldn't really be able to try one on & see. Marquise rings are usually the least they have from what Ive seen. :/

    I think the picture looks pretty.  I haven't seen that either.  I saw one at Jared's that I feel in love with and that new setting is pretty.  Good luck!  I wish I could help more, but its even hard for me and its not even my rings! lol!  Either way, we know they will look good and we will see pictures. Oh, do you think if you decided that you could order it and if you decide you don't like it, could you send it back?  I mean, if they allow that, it could be a possibility.

    @FutureBaker: Thank you! :-)

    & That is what I was going to do. My husband was going to order it & then I would hold on to it for a week & see if I liked it. If not we would just send it back.

    BUT It has to be made custom to fit my ring so they said custom jobs are not returnable. :/

    @Mr.Smithsgirl: Thank you so much!!

    I really do think so also. :-) I just couldn't help but try & picture it with diamonds going down the band. I love sparkle, so when I saw this at an amazing price I couldn't help but consider it.

    So what I am terrified of is getting it, loving it, putting my marquise in the new setting then missing my plain solitaire. UGH :/

    @FutureBaker: Thanks! I have a few months to think on it. So until then its undecided. Other than my husband you bees will be the next to know if I do or do not get it. :-)

    I love it "as is."

    If you get another band, I'd nest it with your current band, rather than on the other side of the e-ring.

    Maybe they've an do a custom wrap that would eliminate the gap? Then you could get the wrap for V day and maybe a second band for you anniversary.   OR do you have a RHR?

    What about leaving your wedding set alone (perfect as is!) and picking a entirely new right hand ring or a ring for another finger?

    @sherryberry: I was hoping you would chime in!

    Honestly I don't really wear any other rings. I have RHR's but never hardly wear them. I do have a anniversary band I want for my right hand though. I was just thinking about adding more sparkle to my wedding set, is all. Thanks so much! I really do love it as is. I just wondered what it would look like with diamonds going down the band. But I am honestly terrified to go through with it because I love my plain solitaire so much.

    Here is the anniversary band I would like for my right hand:

    Beautiful!

    Ultimately, it is your set and your decision. It is a tough one! What if you paired that anniversary ring with your set. Would it be too much of a gap between rings?

    @sherryberry: Thanks!

    That anniversary band is sterling silver so overtime my rings (white gold) would scratch it. :/ But I dont think I would like it to much with my rings. I really like it alone though. Thanks so much for the suggestions! You bees always know how to help a girl out!

    Have you decided on what wedding band you want yet? :-)

    i looove your photoshop work! heehehe! after seeing that, i'd be torn too. i love the look of the marquise with the side stones, but i also REALLY love your set. part of the appeal (at least in my head) of have a solitaire is that you can go a little crazy w/more bling on your band. so i say keep your e-ring as is and change up the band.

    @Jaxx317: Thanks so much for your suggestions! :-)

    I honestly don't want to change my band/make it any blingier. lol This all started with me thinking about getting a second band though for the other side of my e-ring. I thought that would be just enough bling for me. Then I saw this setting & thought it was beautiful. But the more I look at it, then look at my rings I am REALLY starting to think about just getting a second band.

    & Then the thought of me wanting my current wedding band to stand out on its own reentered my mind & I thought how sweet would it be if I let my husband get my wedding band engraved? :-) That way it does stand out.

    @Mrs.Estep:

    oh you and me! (you know what i mean)   LOL

    i am a plain girl, i love plain bands, you know that by now, but looking at your wedding ring i think that a diamond E band would look wonderful....AND  you could do what i was going to do,  have your plain band set with a CZ  to wear on days that you felt...'i need to see my plain ring',  or your stand in ring.  that way you still have your stone,  and your setting, you just wear them at different times.

    i also looked on pompeii3  and they have some great stuff,  but living in UK  their postage was expensive,  and given the fact that i might also have tax and duty to pay,  they were working out too much for me.

    and i know what you mean about indecision,  remember the thread i started wanting a new setting?  please let us know what you decide.  i voted diamond.

    i also think that getting a second band would not look as lovely as the new setting.  but maybe thats just me because like i told you before,  i myself dont want a 3rd ring,  so instead of buying me an eternity ring, this plain band of mine was going to get a make-over and changed to a diamond setting.

    I am strangely emotionally invested in how gorgeous your current ring is, and I was totally thinking about it last night lol.  The more I thought about it, the more I think the new setting has the potential to actually cheapen the look of your e-ring.  Your proposed anniversary band, on the other hand, is LOVELY!  I'd totally go with that one!

    Sorry if I'm being a little weird, but I just love your set :)

    I love your set! It's so classic, you hardly ever see yellow gold solitaires anymore and I weould be really sad if you changed it:( No, it's totally YOU'RE decision. But I think the anniversary band would look pretty amazing:)

    I wouldn't re-set your solitaire.  It's beautiful!

    That being said, I have bought from Poempeii3, and they are great with customer service.  (bought our w.bands there)

    I think a really thin eternity band to wear on the other side would be really beautiful!  I like the marquise shaped one you posted as the anniversary band.

    @JewishBride: Thank you so much! (They're white gold though.) lol & Thanks, that's what I thought. If I want more sparkle I'll ask for an anniversary band. :-)

    @jacinda10: Thank you so much!! I'm not going to reset it. I couldn't help but THINK about it with the setting being so cheap. But I just couldn't go through with it. :-)

    I voted no. The proposed new setting looks too thick to go well with your band. I like it as is. I also love the anniversary band you chose. It's sooo hard with so many choices to stick with just one, I know! I feel like you would miss your solitaire though!

    @Cupcake2012: I had never wanted to change it before. & I have actually looked at wraps & other settings just for fun. But where that one was so cheap & basically the same price as another band would cost I thought about it. But couldn't go through with it. You are 100% correct I would miss it very much! :-)
