I’m so happy to have found this board!! Yay for Encore Brides! I am getting married June 13th and this will be a second wedding for both of us. The first go round I snuck off to the Courthouse with no guests so this time around I can’t wait to share the moment with my daughter, family and closest friends. We are planning a southern garden wedding…I’ll keep you all posted on how it turns out.

Ours is August 1.  It will be about 50-60 guests at my dad’s house in the mountains, with a view of the pacific ocean!  Planning is going well.  We are doing well with the planning, but both are ready to just move on and start our lives together.

I love this board already….We haven’t picked a date yet, partially b/c we’re house hunting, and so that will affect a lot; I’d rather move, then get married. I AM fully in plan mode however. We’re essentially eloping, but invitig a chosen few. The plan is to have everything planned, then send out invites 60 days in advance. RIght now I’m working on modifying a previously worn dress, and chosing a guest/announcement list.

Don’t worry bellenga, we have been engaged for 1yr and 8 mos. Our wedding is March 2010. First we had planned on making it October 2008, then we planned on getting married October 2009 (Can you see we really wanted October?). When, his mom urged us to pick a venue and set a date we could not get October 2009 anymore so we settled for March so we could have an outdoor ceremony and our friend who is in Iraq right now would be home by then. Its later than I would like but at least we know it is going to happen now!

Okay- so now we’re 10.10.09, and being a small out of town wedding, there isn’t a ton to do, only deadlines to meet. The invites will be ordered next week, and the final dress design will be figured out on Saturday. Things are moving right along!

We’re 10-6-2009. We got engaged on 8-3-2008, three days after MA legalized same-sex marriages for out-of-state couples. We’re doing a small MA wedding, but then a much larger reception back home. And there is a lot of DIY involved, including my biggest project, the chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy) shown below. Given that I hadn’t sewn anything since junior high school–and even then, never sewed anything with 32-foot seams–this has been a challenge!

You can click here for all of the gory details.

Our date is 10/24/09…100 days away according to my calendar sitting on my office desk…where I no longer do anything BUT work on the wedding stuff!  LOL  Hope that I can keep up the pace to get the BIG list of To Dos marked off…

It’s not the first time for either of us, and we’re doing things the way that WE want them done – with a big outdoor wedding, ceremony by a friend who happens to be a minister, both of our kids in the wedding as ring bearer and flower girl, and 160 of our closest friends and families.

The vendors are booked, most of them anyway, and the invitations are being designed as we speak…or type…the whole thing seems like DIY, which I have LOVED doing (even when I was cursing it!) because of the personal touch that it adds to it all.  My colors are really all over the board, but mainly black, cream and eggplant.  There’s pictures of it all on my blog…maybe I’ll do a bio here on weddingbee after it’s all said and done.
