I wore white leather sandals, does that count? I like the colorful ones, but my husband was like, "um that's weird" so i went with white. But, sandals b/c they needed to be hella flat as I'm already 1/2" taller than him.
There's no pic attached though. And i like both looks...whtie and colored. Ok i just like shoes, how's that? =]
I'm wearing shoes that are ivory-the same color as my dress. I really wanted to do a colored shoe, but since my dress is tea length, I was having trouble finding the perfect shoe. In the end, I'm glad my shoes match my dress. I am going to try to find a pair of colorful flats for the reception though.
Even though I love the colored shoe look for pictures and such....ya, I think I am going with white to match my dress. I like the shoes with rhinestones and such and it just looks so much more sparkly in white. But, I might consider dying them (if possible) after the wedding!
Probably doing ivory shoes also. I ordered a pair of blue shoes and got them...they kind of scared me and I sent them back. I might get a pair of blue or yellow shoes for the reception.
I couldn't find gold shoes like I wanted so I grabbed the first ivory ones that fit in that same store because I didn't want to search for months. Shows you how important gold shoes were to me :P
Personally I am going with colored, but I have been to tons of weddings recently and they all had white shoes. I dont think your a dying breed at all!
I ended up going with ivory shoes, to match my dress. Honestly, I wanted to go with colored shoes, but my mom, aunt and sister were appalled by the idea.
I am also going with a neutral shoe. I'm bringing 4 different shoes to my first fitting to decide! My dress is a light ivory, so the shoes are ivory patent, cement white, rosey nude, and gold! (I am definitely returning the shoes I don't use.) I had a really hard time with shoes and I've been looking for the past two seasons. You are very lucky to have found something you love and fits well!
I originally bought pink shoes to wear under my gown (before it came in). When my gown came in and I saw how gorgeous and elegant it was, I didn't want to take anything away from it with my shoes. So I bought some diamond white, brooch toe shoes to match my dress and I am thrilled that I did. I wore the pink shoes with my black and white dress for my wedding shower. :)
I don't think you're a dying breed. I've never seen anybody in "real" life wear colored shoes. I'll probably do gold or silver sandals {beach wedding} for the reception, but I'm going barefoot in the sand. It kills me though...I LOVE FANCY SHOES! :)
i think colored shoes are pretty, but i'm weary about using some trends for my wedding and this is one of them. i just don't want to look back at my wedding pictures in 30 years and say "what was i thinking?" so i'm sticking with the classic ivory.
I'm doing blue shoes, but I'm a firm believer on doing whatever works for you! I'm sure you'll look fabulous!
I really loved the idea of having a colored shoe...but I wasn't in love with having shoes in the colors of my wedding colors, and just kept drifting back to ivory shoes time after time when I was looking. I'm going to buy my dream shoes tonight and I can't wait!! (kate spade mattie in ivory!)
I wore ivory satin peep-toe pumps. Very plain and very simple. I love the thought of a bright colored shoe and love it on other people, but it just didn't work with my dress. In my case, it was less about being old-fashioned and more about my dress being the focal point -- I just didn't want anything distracting from the dress!
I'm wearing colored shoes! I am a total shoe girl.... My shoes will be costing more then both of my dresses
. But I will be able to rock my shoes again & I can also put them on a shelf as decor!
I'm going with the classic ivory (I think). I love the colored shoes, but I just want my look to be all white. Do what you like.
I'll be getting married barefoot on the beach, then wearing funky "fish bone" sandals for our sunset cocktail hour(s) on a catamaran. My fiancé loves ankle strap heels, so I got the ones below for the reception dinner and partying in town afterwards.
After finding this site, I must admit that I am tempted to get a a fuscia shoe (my main wedding color), but I think I'll stick with the traditional.

As I am probably much older than most of the bees on here (I'm 40-first time marriage), I am still old fashioned about shoes. I realize that everyone on here is getting colored shoes to wear with their dress, I am still old fashioned and wearing a color close to my dress (silvery, close to white but not a shiny metallic). I ideally was looking for white shoes, but found these shoes and fell for them.
Are there any other brides out there who feel the same way as me or am I the minority?
