Tea length wedding dresses work perfectly for outdoor weddings.

I love this designer, Chris Cole, The Cotton Bride: http://thecottonbride.com/#
He makes gorgeous cotton dresses that could work even in a formal setting.
For shorter length dresses, check out Dolly Couture: www.dollycouture.com
In general though, I think eylet cotton sounds very romantic & perfect for a garden wedding!
I don't think semi-formal is right for that. How about "cocktail attire" - that's more informal/casual without sounding like people can show up in ripped jeans and a t-shirt. Don't laugh - I know someone who did this because "casual dress" was on the wedding website. It was sad but hilarious.
Go with a Cotton Gown by Chris Kole! You can dress it up or down and his gowns are beautiful!!!!!!!!

I'm having a mostly-outdoor summer wedding in early afternoon, with a garden-party atmosphere. It will either be informal or semi-formal. I mean these terms in their traditional old-fashioned way - semi-formal will be if I can convince my fiance that he should wear a stroller with double-breasted vest and checked or striped pants, otherwise he will wear a solid grey three-piece suit and it will be informal. But I cannot find any advice for the wedding dress. Basically, I'd like to know if eyelet cotton lined with satin would be appropriate, or if I should get something in silk chiffon or silk jersey. Also, would tea-length would be okay or should I go floor-length? How about veils? Thanks so much for any advice!
