My husband and I just celebrated our 8th anniversary. We’re planning a family vacation this summer, so we decided not to give anniversary gifts to each other in order to save for our trip. We decided to just get each other a card instead. To my surprise, my husband decided to write me an old-fashioned love letter in lieu of a card. I melted. I love the idea of having an actual love letter in his handwriting to store away and keep forever. It was beautfiul, and I still get choked up reading it.
Anyone else out there love love letters???

Yes! I love them!!! My husband goes out of town for business sometimes and when he does he will write me a sweet little love letter and give it to me before he goes. For my birthday and other holidays, thats what i always ask for. I save them all, i love looking back on them and reading back on them.

Absolutely! We did this on our wedding day during our first look. We wrote love letters to eachother and exchanged them and read them during our first look. It was beautiful and I cherish the letter my husband wrote me and hope for more in the future!

Bexx: MrsBaldEagle: That is so sweet! I feel like a handwritten letter has way more authenticity than an email or a text. They just seem so much more romantic.

My FI wrote me a really long letter early in our relationship, and we’ve sort of kept it up. He leaves me letters whenever he goes out of town, and we write long bits for our anniversary, valentines, etc. We’re less on the presents, more on the letters. They are SO funny to read later. In a good way.

lavenderstone: My FI as been away for a few weeks and we have been unable to see each other, other than skype or something like that. So we decided to save on the texts and emails and write letters. We have written to each other several times now. I know I will save them and cherish them later.
