I did all the old wives tales (you can google tons of them) and they said girl. THey were right, but they have a 50% chance of being right anyway.  I don’t really believe them, they were just something fun to try when bored.

@eecuadrado:  About 75% of them pointed to having a girl and I am having a boy… there there a couple of signs that I was having a boy though… my feet were always cold (old wives tale) and I grew more noticeable hair on my belly. It is still really light… like blonde thin hair like on my arms but it was not there like that before. I blame it on the testosterone… I think lol. who knows 🙂

A friends mom said I was having a girl because of the way my ass looked … and sure enough, I’m having a girl.

Most of the wives’ tales said I was having a boy… but I had a girl!

I also tried a lot of wives’ tales to get labor going but nothing worked for that either.  I did do castor oil in a smoothie per the midwife’s suggestion, and the next day I went into labor (I’m not sure if it had anything to do with the castor oil or the fact that I was 8 days past due though)

All the wives tales pointed to boy for us, but it’s a girl!

@eecuadrado:  I suppose if you have nothing better to do with your time, you can try these. I think the thing that works best is waiting until your scan or blood test that tells you…

In the first trimester- and even up to 20+ weeks, you are not carrying any way to indicate boy or girl. Your bump is 90% bloat- wait a few months and you will see how you’re carrying.

So ALL of the old wives tales point to me having a boy. Plus just based on familial history as well I should be having a boy, but all my sonos are saying girl. I’m super happy that they say girl, but part of me thinks a boy will be popping out instead. We’ll see. lol

These held true for me with both of my kids…

Girl:  Craved Sweets, Gained weight all over

Boy: Craved Spicey foods, Gained just the belly

AND. Heartburn = lots of hair.  This was me with my daughter. No heartburn, my son was bald!

I photograph a TON of newborns, I ask that question to the moms all the time about heartburn if the baby has a head full of hair – 100% of the time, they answer YES!!!
