Looking for suggestions here...Our flower girl is 11 and I wanted to try to make it more of a big girl thing so she doesn't feel like were treating her like a kid. I was wondering if I can do sopmething different than throwing petals...I really don't know. Pleaase help!

Our flower girl was 8 years old.  We let her hold a bouquet like the BMs.  Her's was a little smaller and she begged my MOH to switch with her.  We also let her wear a little make-up.  She was pretty happy all day.

I would call her a junior bridesmaid and have her go down the aisle first.

I would look at it like you are not having a flower girl...

I would upgrade her to jr. bridesmaid and give her a smaller bouquet or a pomander to walk down the aisle with. I work with 11 year olds and I can't think of any of them wanting to be called a "flower girl" since they are at that age where they want to be older.

We have two flower girls; one older and one who is much younger.  The older girl is wearing the same color as the bridesmaids and knows that her 'responsibilities' include helping the younger flower girl.  She's very excited.  We'll have her hair done also.

I would have her carry a bouquet. You could also have her in the same dress, if possible, as the BM's. I bet she would love to feel like an adult for the day :)

i agree that that age sounds more appropriate for a junior bridesmaid. they usually make a junior (aka less revealing) version of most bridesmaid dresses that she could wear, and she could have a small bouquet. i bet she'd love that, and would feel very grown up.
