I just found a dress I love at David’s Bridal. It’s an Oleg Cassini. I focused on this line because I love his style and work that he has done for Jackie Kennedy. Now I read on some of the posts here that they are not authentic Cassini’s and that David’s Bridal manufactures them. I assumed that a private company has carried on Cassini’s work with quality materials. Does anyone here have any information about this?

I could be wrong, but I believe for the wedding gowns, David’s Bridal is the only company that carries Oleg Cassini. These are beautiful gowns that are made with much higher quality and fabrics than the regular David’s line. I used to work at David’s several years back, and had ample opportunity to examine all of them. When I started working there, I had planned on ending up with a Mori Lee gown, but then I noticed all of the details that go into the Oleg Cassini gowns…and I knew I was going to be an Oleg bride. I looked at many alternatives, and none of them were right. Yes, they are authentic. 🙂 Oleg brides can even get the retrospective of Oleg’s career.

@Spitfire: Thank you for your detailed description of Oleg Cassini gowns. I truely love mine and did notice how beautiful the material felt…and it’s great to know, first hand from you, the amazing quality that goes into creating these gorgeous dresses, and the style! I went to David’s specifically to look at and try on Cassini. I had been there earlier that day, with an appointmen. It was a bad experience. But I then call later that same day, explained what I needed: a relaxed appointment so that I could be calm and focus explaining that I get very stressed with trying on gowns and need some “special” attention. The woman on the phone was wonderful and told me to come down within the next hour and that I was speaking to “the right person”. I was happy as I drove there. I must say that I was treated like a queen!! The consultant gave me all her attention and did not rush me at all and made every attempt to make me comfortable and asked if I wanted to try on the two dresses that I had narrowed down as many times as I needed. While I was about to try one on again, I asked if she would go back to the Oleg Cassini Collection and bring me one that had caught my eye. She knew exactly which one. I put it on and was in awe. The only words I could say over and over was, “I love this dress”. I was so happy and surprised that I went in looking for an idea of want I wanted and found that and a whole lot more. I didn’t expect some of the details that I saw in the dress. I love everything about it. I was so happy and know that I would not have had that wonderful experience at any bridal shop anywhere. My consultant even asked if I wanted the seamstress to come out so that I could ask her questions. She came out twice and showed me how the dress will look once it’s ordered in my size. I love David’s Bridal in every way based on that night and my amazing Oleg Cassini gown!!!! I have posted my dress all over other post as well, but here are the three Oleg’s I chose from…and then my special dress! Oppps, I had a little difficulty posting the pictures. The first two pictures are MY Dress and the others were the other two Cassini that were beautiful but didn’t make me feel how I did with mine. I chose the champagna with the two layers of ivory chantilly lace overlay.

My dress was an Oleg Cassini and I LOVE MY DRESS!!! It was extremely heavy, lol….But! I love it nonetheless. I fell in love with it the second I put it on and didn’t want to take it off. The material was a much better quality than others I tried on for sure.
Your dress is so pretty! 😀 Oleg Cassini brides unite! 😀

I had an Oleg Cassini as well, and the quality of my dress was so much better than any of the other dresses I tried on. Here it’s in the salong (so that you can see the length):
Loved how full the skirt was, the neckline and the fit was amazing – I didn’t have to change a thing! Was totally blown away by the price as well, $625! Here it’s on our wedding day:
Through the day people kept commenting how much they loved it – I really felt like it was the best possible dress. I’m sure you’ll feel just as amazing in your dress on your wedding day!

@Old Hollywood: OMG! We are dress twins! The dress is amazing! 😀 It looks wonderful on you! 🙂 Congratulations! I am so glad you have confidence in them, you totally should! Also, I will tell you, with that dress you really should get a trumpet/mermaid slip if you did not. My MoH was convinced I didn’t need one, then she saw it with the slip and agreed it looked much prettier! My MoH got married in 2010, and I helped her with her gown, which was also an Oleg. 🙂 You will not reget your choice! Congrats again!

I had an Oleg but decided to go with another dress. The only reason was that I didnt like that the Oleg was a halter. But the quality of the dress was fabulous. Felt the quality was WAY higher than anything else at david’s bridal.
And when i chose another dress, it took me one day to sell it and for only $50 less what I paid!

@eocenia: You look sophisticated and adorable all at the same time 🙂
@spitfire: I am definately getting the trumpet slip! I tried it on too and loved how it allows more of that gorgeous lace to stand out. Isn’t that two layer chantilly lace amazing?? Did you get the ivory over champange? I am so undecided about wering this sash with it. I don’t want anything to take away from the delicate lace and neckline. What did you do?
