Does anyone have this dress or have any info on it? Pictures? I LOVE it... unfortunately when I went to try it on, the only samples they had were at least 3 sizes too small and it was hard to get a good idea - the closest store with a bigger sample was 8 hours away. I'm wondering if anyone tried this dress - I'm most concerned with how the size 12 and up look in it and if the box pleats on the sides/back lay flat when it actually fits. I know this is kind of specific, but where else to go for go advice? :)

That dress is very pretty.  Would it be possible for the store to get a sample from the other store for you to try?

Nope. I already asked. They can onl order the dress if I pay for it in full - if I don't like it, then I can return it for store credit - but my wedding is in 8 months and he dress takes almost 4 to come in.

I tried on this dress in my size, and it fit like a dream! I actually almost bought it; it was one of my top 2 choices! I ended up going with the CT318. As far as I remember, the pleats did lay flat, and the fit was glorious. The only reason I didn't go with this gown was because I really wanted to do something other than strapless.

I wish I had pictures or something to show you. At the very least, you get my thumbs up for this gown! I actually tried it on 3 times since I just loved wearing it.

Best of luck! Let me know if you have any other questions about my trying-it-on experience.

Well, if you are still interested in seeing it - I'm in a 16 in these photos and its AMAZING!  I found it yesterday and I'm in LOVE.  :)  I was completely worried that I wouldn't look good in anything because of my weight... and I felt amazing in it.

(pics are poor quality from my cell - sorry!)

@mashka - Unrelated... My MOH lives in Stillwater and I'm in the Seattle area.  I had to laugh when I saw Edmond - Home of Shannon Miller!  :)

    This is my dress! :)

I'm a 16 in the dress and it fits amazing, the pleats do lay flat and it makes me look sooo thin and have a very defined waist

I took it to a seperate tailor and had a few alterations done (changing the top to sweetheart, and putting a ton of points in the bustle because davids only wanted to do 3..)

@Cupcake - Do you have photos of the sweetheart modification?  I seriously considered doing that (I'm not having David's do my alterations either.)  I would love to see how it turned out.

This is my dress! I think it is gorgeous and fits great. My only concern is the weight of the dress, it is VERY heavy so I am a bit worried about being hot for my August wedding.

I've included two pictures of my in the dress in a size 8 <--my pictures are too big, opps. I'll work on getting them up later today.

It's my dress too! I bought it in a size 8 and I love it! I need to get it altered some, but it fits very well. It is fairly heavy though. I just think this dress is great because it seems to be very flattering on girls of different sizes... I'll try to get my pictures uploaded soon!

Holy alterations cost! Just a warning that I went in for my first fitting with this dress this week and my alterations bill came to $300! I am in the Chicago area, so that may inflate the price a little bit, but I was told the cost is due to the weight of the material, and need so many bustle points that alterations are needed. I was anticipating spending around $200 on alternations, but instead I am spending a 1/3 of the cost of the dress... So just a warning if you are considering this dress. I still love it and think its worth it, but it caught me off guard.

@NYC.BOS.CHI: I think this depends a lot on where you get it altered.  I'm not going with David's and I'm way under $200.

I have this dress in a size 10, the only alteration that I had done was the bustle. It looked fabulous on me and was a big hit!

Does anyone have photos of their bustle they could post?  SO far I'm really not happy with any of the options suggested by my seamstress so she asked me to give her some inspiration.  My dress is being modified into a slight sweetheart as well, no other alterations.

Oleg Cassini CT314 - anyone? : wedding Bustle

Here is a non-pro photo of my bustle. I did my alternations at an idependent seamstress in Chicago and they ran me ~350 (included hem ~4", bustle (5 points), and sewing in a boustier).

Oh I love this dress. I went to David's last week and tried it on.  I love it. So beautiful.  This is what they said they could do for a bustle.

I just went dress shopping for the first time and I LOVED this dress. It was not even one of the ones that I picked out, but it was by far my favorite. It had an elegant and timeless feel--I feel that if I would look back in wedding pictures 20 years from now, the dress would still be beautiful. Above all, I do not want a dress where someone will look back on the pictures and think, "oh yeah, that was the style in the early 2010s!" So no major ruffles or pick up skirts for me. I tried this on in a 10 and looked very slender and tall in the dress. I am thinking about getting it, but I loved dress shopping way to much to buy something on my first trip!

I find it TOTALLY weird that there are this many posts (by new members) here asking about buying the dress.  I hope this gets flagged and reviewed...  Admins??

I'm a size 12, I tried on a size 12.  I cannot believe how thin it made me look/feel.  Very flattering and the most beautiful train I've ever seen in my life!!!! I LOVE the bustle just the same.  I did not get this one, though, because I wanted more "bling" on the bodice, if you will.  Also, it was the most comfortable, stay-put dress I tried on.
