I’m so sorry this happened to you. 🙁 So, first of all: hugs.

Second: If it’s too small, I’d say order something larger, that way if it IS too big, a tailor can always take it in, say, the size below…..

I saw this on tradesy; it’s your model dress for $500, which really isn’t bad. If it’s too big, take it to a tailor. I called a random tailor in my town and got an appt next day. I have my final fitting tomorrow, just took it in 2 weeks ago, and my wedding is in a month!

Also. David’s Bridal AND Alfred Angelo sell off the rack. This stuff happens. Go tomorrow to bridal shops, tell them your situation, and they WILL help you. It’s not only their job but again, this stuff happens!

David’s Bridal ships pretty quickly. I ordered mine at the end of November and it was on my doorstop mid-December! Good luck!!!!

Do other shops besides David’s Bridal even carry Oleg Cassini? Was the dress listed for a price well below retail? Also, wedding dresses usually run two sizes smaller. Did you order based off your measurements?

Either way, I’m really sorry this happened to you, but I think I would have been wary about purchasing a dress carried exclusively by a shop from another place. I hope you’re able to find a used or sample version soon!

Here’s one that’s new with tags, label size 14, street size 10: http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dresses/70414/Oleg-Cassini-CPK437-Size-10.html

And I think this is the same listing, but on a different site: http://www.oncewed.com/used-wedding-dresses/cpk437/

I’m sorry that this happened to you!  When I saw a DB dress at a small wedding shop online I asked tonns of questions and even asked for pics, which is when I saw it was a knockoff and didnt purchase from there. But it is kind of sad that we have to be so wary when buying our dresses. I would def. try the secondhand sites: tradesy oncewed preownedweddingdresses.com etc and store samples. There is options! 🙂

@cristal.churchill:  did you pay by CC? PayPal? The first thing to do is dispute the payment! I’m so sorry girl. I know you’re disappointed and mad and worried about finding another in time…

Oh yeah, definitely a site selling knock offs. She doesn’t even list the designers on all of the dresses she has, and there’s no way she’s getting those real dresses for that cheap. She has a spring 2013 Provonias gown on there for $599, which retails for over $1000 (not sure of the exact price).

I’m glad you got your dress, and I’m hoping that Paypal sides with you.
