Heh, we might seem like we're in control of everything, but I've changed my mind on my save the dates about a million times now, and no florist or DJ yet...
some of us are just super excited and have been planning since we were 5. I did all the fun details like picking the food and cake tasting now i just have to earn the money to pay for it all. don't worry you have plenty of time :) plus- you have the hive!
Ok, you freaking out is making me freak out. Lol We're date twins! You are doing great!!!
If any of those girls are like me, they're done because they had a long engagement and couldn't wait to start planning. =) I'm three years out, and I can totally visualize me having chosen everything within the year. Maybe not put down any payments, but picked out what I want, definitely.
=D There's lots of people who plan an entire wedding in 4-6 months, so don't worry! You have almost everything, after all. =) As for a hair trial, I'm sure you don't have to GO now -- sure, start collecting inspiration -- but I might recommend Spasation if you want a really high-end hair trial, or a hair-cutting school if you'd rather just try a couple things out and keep the cost of the trial low. Definitely get your make-up trial done at a department store esthetician! (Unless you really want to splurge, in which case, again, I'd recommend Spasation.)
You need to get a caterer. Unless that's included in the reception (you didn't mention it above), or you're just doing cake & champagne. If you already have a caterer, you still need to choose the menu. You need to do your seating plan. Think about dance lessons! =) That's all I can think of right now.
On the hair trial thing, my hair dresser asked me not to do it more than a month before so that she wouldn't forget. So while it will be a month before, I booked it several months before. :)
Cool. Ok, we're starting dance lessons next month!!!!!!!!!! I think I'll be more comfortable once I choose a vendor and that will happen on Friday. I am letting another vendor do a mockup for me, and I think I love them already though. So I will know the layout of tables and can do the seating chart.
I am in the process of picking out invitations... my parents have yet to give me their finished guest list
... it is like pulling teeth.
I actually booked my favorite hair girl for my date, haven't booked mu if I am going pro- just no trials yet.
I have like a full computer and boxes full of inspiration ... but I haven't actually done anything yet. LOL. I feel like I need to get my hands dirty.
I think as long as you have a plan for when things need to be done you're fine. I just got ahead because I'm studying for a big exam the month before the wedding. I already did my hair trial but it's because I don't live in the same city where we're getting married. Do some research on places and call them and see what they suggested. I'd wait til August or so probably. :)
I left msg.'s today, I guess most salons are closed on Mondays. Friday I have a big apt. with a florist who is even showing me invitations. So I might do it all on Friday!
Another late Oct. bride here! :) I just started contacting vendors for hair/make-up. Out of the two that I've contacted (at this point I'm so tired of booking things :) ), one is booked and the other is open... I just need to make an appointment. I have no idea what I'm going to do either, so I'm hoping to find some inspiration before our first meeting.
Depending on the size of the wedding party you want to start thinking about getting into the schedule at a hair salon. Boston area salons can book up pretty quickly! But otherwise, you will be fine. Brides do more in less time! Good luck!
Yo! You need to relax. My date is Oct. 11th and I'm pretty much in the same boat.
I'm not doing my trials until Sept. All I have left to do is send invites to the printers, place cards and seating charts. But really I can't do those until RSVPs come in.
I think that most of your important details have already been handled and I think you have plenty of time before the wedding. I only have a month left before my wedding and I'm still looking for a photographer, videographer, and DJ.
Just stay in touch with your wedding planner and I think you'll be fine.
I wouldn't worry. I will have everything done in less than six months.
Plus we've got your back!
I was going to say you just need to make sure the hair & makeup artist you want to go to is available on the dates you want (say September?).But as I was reading the responses, I realized you've got that covered too.Sooo, I think you're in good hands and don't need to freakout. :)
Good luck with invitations and the guest list :)
You have a lot done, and will be fine!
We got engaged in October 2008, and are getting married in July 2009, so we had less than a year to plan, which has been more than enough time!
My hair trial is a week and half before my wedding, as my hair stylist wants it closer so it is fresh in her mind.
good luck, you are doing great!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
and I'm still picking out who I want to do my flowers!!!
So I hired the band for the reception, photographer, videographer, negotiating cake ... almost booked, dress is being made, moh dress is being made, and obvioiusly I have my venue booked and the church booked.
That's it. That's all I've done so far.
Yes, I have a wedding planner, but I'm still planning my own wedding.
What do I need to do? Omg. Lol.
When do I go for hair trials, mu? I am sure I know how I want it. Do I need to go now? What should I be doing?
My day is October 24th ... so it's not until the end of October.
