Awwwww I think it would be fun in a way but then not so fun in others if it makes sense - there are some pretty snarky people out there!
@luvmyDwight: I once got a email back from "Say Yes to the Dress Big Bliss" before but I was so freaked out by being on TV I didnt email them back. My mother is the one that emailed them initially and didnt tell me lol
Wow, that is so awesome...I think it would be really fun to be on the show!!
OMG I want to be on it!!!!! SO and I watch it every week and we want to, even though we know we would be ripped to shreds. Too bad we live in a not popular area
@unixfairy: I agree about the fun in some ways and not so fun in others. I could give a hoot what other people think of me or my wedding. In fact I'm pretty sure we wouldn't win but the cameras and staff everywhere on an already possibly stressful day would be a bit much.
@mcklough: Have you checked the website?
When I looked I was shocked that they would be filming in the Phoenix area at the same time frame as our wedding.
Just out of curiosity, can you ask them if they give the raw video to the couples after they are done filming? That's always been something I've wondered about. :)
@luvmyDwight: I am not at all sure that you would not win BUT if FI is really against it then it would be a nightmare :)
Talk to him again but not sure what it would be like to have all the interviews and cameras there and be on national TV
Oooh! I wouldn't want to do this, but I'd love to know someone who did!
I like the show, but I wouldn't be on it. I put so much into my day that people publicly bashing my day would be too hard.
i applied lol but i would have mixed feelings about being on it. i love the show but i hate how a girl gets judged when something wasnt in her control--like weather.
i also hate how i feel like the girls that dont win think less of their day.
That is awsome. I would feel the same. I would be excited about being on the show but some of the girls on that show can be really mean. Plus I don't think I want people to know how much I spent on the wedding.
Well, I told FI about it and it was pretty much shut down right away. I have thought about it more and I have to agree.
My MOH and family are preparing the food and the venue is my FI's cousins backyard. It would be horrible if the girls bashed the food and venue. I mean it's one thing if it was some random vendor but they will be family. I don't think so!
Also it takes a lot to put on a TV show. It would be super intrusive.
Does he know about the honeymoon?! I bet you can convince him!
I think it'd be fun to have all that raw footage, but we're getting married in a full Mass, so I don't think I'd feel comfortable having the cameras in our church filming for TV?
While I enjoy watching the show I wouldn't want to be on TV either so I can see your FI's point. Still cool though!
I love watching the show but they would totally bash my completely DIY wedding. Come on now. Coffee filter flower centerpieces??? My bf thinks they're cute, but you know those chicks would tear them apart.
@mink: They just called me back. I asked about the raw footage and she said she didn't think the couples get to have it but that would be a question to ask the producers of the show. She siad when I find out let her know cuz she get's asked that a lot. LOL
The next step would be a Skype interview asking me about the wedding and my dress. Basicly the same things asked on the application. They then turn the interview over to the producers to decide if they want to film your wedding for the show.
@luvmyDwight: Did you do the Skype interview with them, or tell them you're not interested? One of the girls that has been chosen for the Phoenix filming posts over on The Knot's Phoenix board if you're interested in the competition.
I would love to be on the show but we are already over capacity :) I think it would make me feel bad if people bashed my decor, food, and especially my venue!!!!
@luvmyDwight: hi there :) i actually was one of the brides on the Four Weddings show. our episode aired friday.
if you'd like, you could message me directly and i could answer any questions you might have. i did that when i was first considering the show and it helped to talk to someone that had actually been through it.
good luck with your decision making and planning! =)
@JessesGirl: don't want to thread jack - but no, we did not win. it was a fun experience though! :)
I personally could not handle people criticizing my "day". It's going to be perfect because it's mine and I don't need someone else (a stranger no less!) judging that. It is fun to watch some of the things people do though!
OMG do it! Well at least do the next part of the interview process. Maybe if your FI knows about the honeymoon, he'll change his mind!
@Juliepants: Im on Four Weddings. Had first filming in London and met other brides.
First wedding next saturday.. Im well excited. x
I just sent in my application last night for Boston and my FI is super excited about possibly being on the show! I'm pretty sure if offered I would take it up, but have to admit I don't really expect for us to get picked - I can't imagine how many people actually apply.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I was driving on the highway and didn't want to be talking while driving so they are going to call me back tomorow.
BUT....After I applied online my FI told me NO WAY he would ever be on TV. He said his family wouldn't either. :(
I think it would be fun and don't even get me started on how excited my 14yr daughter was when I hung up.
*sigh* So I guess tomorrow when they call back I'll have to decline. Or find a way to convince FI....nope not gonna happen.
I'm sure they call a lot of people and then weed some out until they find what they want. Anyone here ever applied and recieved a call?
