Ouch! I just received my earrings today from an Etsy like sight and I absolutely love them, however they dont match my shoes! But...they match my FI tie. The tie and earrings are more of a sage green and the shoes are a wee bit brighter green. Is this bad? I dont want to return the earrings because I fear the other option may not work, it may be too light. Do you think I can pull it off? The only other thing are our ceremony fan programs ribbons are light green. I thought this was going to be easy but it turns out no! I wanted green earrings as I love color, it is my favorite and I have fair skin and do not like the look of pearls etc on me. Any suggestions?

Pics would help but from what you described, it sounds fine, especially if they match FI's tie!

Awww....I think it would look super cute that they match your FI's tie.
I don't think anyone would notice that they don't match your shoes. I know I wouldn't...coz I'd be all "How CUTE! Her earrings match his tie"...just my opinion. :)

Is your dress short and the shoes a prominent part of your outfit? If the dress is long, I wouldn't worry about this at all! Plus, shoes & earrings are about as far apart as accessories can be :) Ties & earrings are in much closer proximity.

Also, I love various shades of the same color as accessories. My shoes are a bright, neon-ish green, my sweater is a grass green, my earrings are peridot, my hair fascinor is a leaf-green.

I think it's fine! Really nice, actually. I personally prefer when things are different shades of the same color rather than perfectly matchy. And if it's really bugging you, rest assured that unless you are planning on standing with your foot wrapped around your head, it's likely that no one will notice.

Yea my dress is a T-length strapless from JCrew, pretty casual. After I calmed a bit, I am hoping its not going to be an issue since the earrings and tie are so close and if anything I can change the ribbon on my fans but in all honesty I am not going for perfection but I dont want it to look ridiculous. My bouquet is hot pink roses with kermit mums so the flowers are a bit on the darker green side too. I guess when I first got the shoes I found them online then went to the store and they were lighter then I thought but loved them. And I am the type of person that if I see it, like it, I get it. I hate shopping and tend not to shop around. I found these earrings and knew they were it and they are! They give just the right lenght to an updo but are not too dangly for my short face.

You're right, they don't match. However... Unless you're wearing a shorter dress, no one will notice. I think it's more important that you can see the earrings and those match the tie that everyone can also see.

No, they don't match perfectly, but I like that about them =]

And just to reiterate what was said above, hardly anyone will see, and I doubt they'll be screaming about your faux pax peridot shoes with sage green earrings and ties. THe horror! the horror!!!! Not. =]

Thanks girls! After seeing it through, I actually do like the 3 of them togethor and there is actually a shade of the darker green in the stone on the shoe that kind of ties it in. I think I was also just preparing myself for when my sis comes to town bc we definetly have different taste and shes more of a matchy matchy type. Thanks again for the help and stress releif!

It sounds like you've already been reassured, but I wanted to say that I LOVE the look! I think when people use different shades of their color the outcome is almost always lovely. :)

It's true.  People won't remember what you wore.  I couldn't even remember what the last bride wore at the last wedding I went to.

I love the look of a range of shades of the same color.  I think it's nuts when EVERYTHING matches.

They look good! Everything's in the same color family. Besides, your earrings and shoes are far enough apart that people will not be able to closely compare them. No worries! You'll look great!

I agree with everyone - they look great together. I love when the colors don't match. We were just going to do teal and black for our wedding colors, and now its about 4 different shades of blue and black, I love it!

    I think you're fine.

I think as brides we tend to overthink everything... and make sure EVERY detail matches perfectly.  You're in the same color family and I think it all complements very nicely.

This all looks great--very cute accessories! I think it's perfect that they don't all match in coloring perfectly. They compliment each other so well and absolutely no one will notice anything but how beautiful you look on your wedding day!
