How wonderful!! I ordered mine 6 months in advance, it will be here about 10 weeks in advance. (I have its picture on my blackberry, so I look at it on occasion, but don't have anything to pet 
)
I bought mine before he proposed. 
22 months in advance.
I just bought mine today - exactlly 12 months and 1 week before the wedding!!! :)

My "Garden Glam" wedding is going to be May 23, 2009 but I kind of purchased my dress yesterday! AHHHHH!!!! I am so excited! It made me realize: "Holy crap this is really happening!!!" I know it is rather early but I feel like a huge weight has lifted off my shoulders. My wedding coordinator, mom, MOH, and good friend were there and they loved it! We actually all picked it out together so it made it doubly special. I can put everything away and take it out secretly and look at it and pet the fabric and put it away again whenver I want to! I know I will be losing more weight before the big day but that can be taken care of during my fittings and alterations.
I am sooooo excited and giddy I can't sleep. It was really hard coming home to my honey and not dance around the house. You would have been so proud of me...I was cool as a cucumber. Oh yeah, and my veil/tiara combo is killer...very delicate and classy but definitely sparkly and lovely and wonderful.
Anyone else buy their dress 13 months in advance?
