I just completed the last three DIYs, and I am so happy; no more crafting, until after the wedding :-)
This last batch includes:
Here are some pictures of the completed work. The first picture is of all three of them. The second and thrid are of the menu; outside and inside, and the last one is of the outside of the vows. You can see the inside of the vows here. The place card is attached to the cracker favor.
Also, here is a list of most of the DIYs that I have done.
My goodness I didn't realize how close your wedding was! I cannot wait to see pics :)
You did an amazing job on everything.
@SoontobeMrsA: Thank you :-)
Yes, it is just around the corner; time flies; no matter what other people try to tell you.
Wow! Your DIY projects are amazing! Great job on everything, can't wait to see some recaps of everything in action at your wedding!
wow thats a long list. i know that feeling when its down to the final things to do before the wedding. it feels so good.
I've admired everything you have worked so hard on. It will be wonderful to see your recap and photos! I know that you will have a wonderful wedding day. Gorgeous!!!
wooohoo! @noritake22: remember when we were comparing lists? seems so long ago! Its amazing what you have accomplished! Cant wait to see piccies, if its anything like your engagement pics we are in for a treat!
Thank you ladies for your lovely comments :-)
We will be using the same photographers for our wedding that we used for our engagement photos, so we should be able to get some good pictures. I have a meeting with them on Friday to go over the "must haves". And yes @ccranetobe: , I do remember comparing lists :-)
I can NOT believe how much you have DIY'd (sp?!) .... my FI and I have yet to set a date, but when we do, I want to get busy with some arts and crafts like you have :) Are you naturally artsy, or did you pull a lot of inspiration from other sources? (and if so.... where?) I can normally get started on something with a kick start, but have trouble imagining things from scratch!
I can't believe you're done!!! You've done such an amazing job honey! Now you can put down the paper punches and glue stick for a couple weeks before the wedding! Congrats!!!
@Miss Godiva: Thank you :-)
I started right away. I do have a craft/artistic gene; however, I do have to gather inspiration too. I just googled and looked on wedding forums for inspiration and then did my own take on things. A word of advice; when you get engaged and want to start DIYing, pick your venue first, so you can draw on that for inspiration. Also, don't let anyone talk you into not starting your projects because they think it is too early. Almost all of my projects, I thought about for weeks to get straight in my head on what I wanted to do, and then I had to round up the materials, and then get busy on it. Make yourself a list of what you want to do, and then do one thing at a time, and then check it off the list as you get it done. Also, give yourself deadlines on when to have each thing done by. If you keep your list on your computer, you can change the dates and order as needed.
Your menus and vows are awesome. I hadnt thought of prettying up my vow but I will have to add it to my list. Great advise on the its not to early to start DIY. Everyone told be it was to early and I wish I had ignored them and started earlier
@15happyyears: Thank you :-)
I am so glad that I didn't listen. I never would have been able to get everything done, if I had.
WOW! Everything is beautiful! Have fun and I cant wait to see the pictures! :-)
how many of all those did you make? I love your bags with the thank you tags:) awesome! :) I am going to make my own bags too if I decide to do a candy buffet. Which I think I am:)
Ronney
@Evie19: Scared to death!!! And I have no idea why. We have been together for just over 10 years and we own everything together, so I shouldn't feel that way, but I do :-/
@Ronneykay: We are having a very small wedding; about 50, so I didn't have to make to many of anything, so that was a good thing. If you are planning on DIYing, the sooner you start, the better, IMO.
@noritake22: Well I think it is understandable, a wedding ceremony and contract, and just...the whole event is nervewracking! I'm sure everything will be beautiful, and it makes it even more special that you have had your hand in so many DIY projects for the wedding. :)
yea i am diying quite a few things... And yea, i've started my tissue paper flowers, gonna do like 5 a night or there abouts, I need to get some paper and stuff, to try other things.
I want to do hanging paper lanterns but thinking I will just make big pomanders instead and/or fans of different colors, I still got time:) yay!
I am ordering cheap invitations and then sprucing them up with my own touch. That wont happen for a few months. Save the dates, the same thing, ordering plain post cards and adding my personal touch. i need to make a list of what I am DIYing I guess...
Thanks Nori, your stuff turned out beautifully!
@Ronneykay: Thank you :-) It is good that you are starting now. You will be surprised at how the time will just fly by. I really really really recommend the lists. They helped me immensely.
Wow! You did sooooo much for your wedding! I can't wait to see how everything comes together in your pictures!
OMG, your DONE! Gosh, I am kind of sad in a happy way, all the ladies that have been around since I started WB are all finishing their final projects or have already gone down the aisle.
@noritake22: I want to tell you that you are a true inspiration to the boards. You are always there with a warm welcome and great advice. I am so happy that you are marrying the man of your dreams. I really look forward to your recaps.
Lil Mrs. Martha Stewart!! Hehe!! All of your DIY items look so very wonderful!! I hope you have an absolutely amazing day! I cannot wait to see pics!!!
wow you sure have done alot of work... I will be sure to share all of mine once I finally finish!
Wow! Looks amazing. Must feel good to be done huh? (I'm so bookmarking this page so I can get ideas and tips later!)
Wow, DIY machine! I think you've just inspired me to get my act together when the time comes for our reception. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
