Haha I love your post. I’m not an OSU fan but I live in Ohio. I’m actually a Wisconsin fan but I think it’s pretty cool that a big ten school will be going (probably) to the national  championship!

I think going to a sports bar in your wedding dress would be awesome! Fingers crossed that they win so your FI doesn’t cry! L

O-H!!!!!! I can’t even tell you what my household is like right now with OSU and Auburn both winning. Both of those games about gave me a heart attack but clearly the Football Gods want Ohio State in the national championship.

Okay but seriously please rock your wedding dress in a sports bar. Since I assume everyone at your wedding understands what a big deal that is, why don’t you invite everyone to an after-party to watch the game at a bar?

@howsweetitis:  I think the championship game will be Auburn vs Florida St assuming auburn wins the SEC championship game which is not a guarentee (I am a UT fan so def not an au urn fan but i think voters will put them over ohio state beating michigan by 1 point)

@howsweetitis:  Does that mean  you want us to cheer for Michigan? So your guests don’t get their priorities mixed up?

Does that really matter? I sure hope no one would skip a wedding for a game. They can just read about it after or record it. I don’t get it. I would also freak out if people were on their phones all through my wedding or left right after dinner. I assume a reception was paid for.

I think for one night people can focus on the couple.

Not a OSU fan. The exact opposite of an OSU fan, and was at the game today — so take this with a grain of salt.

I highly doubt that OSU will end up in the national championship game. Alabama (who has a much tougher schedule than OSU) lost, but to #4. And you have a bunch of other top 10 teams still finishing up their night as you just mentioned. But OSU won by one point to an unranked team with four (now five) losses under their belts — and to do that they had to rely on one player. The BCS powers-that-be already were wary of ranking OSU high because of their weak schedule. Point being: they had to school Michigan in a painful fashion to get into the BCS bowl unless both ‘Bama and Florida lost by huge margins.

If there is a ray of hope in this story, it’s that I think there’s a chance of you destroying MSU. Granted, if the team that shows up today, shows up in Indy — there isn’t a hope or prayer. But if you guys do make it, I’ll always root Big 10 🙂

Shorter version: Maybe get your emcee to announce the score at quiet moments in dinner? (Assuming all of your family are big football fans.) Maybe once a quarter until you leave? Definitely rock a dress in a sportsbar and make sure someone is there to get pictures.

@howsweetitis:  I’m an Auburn fan so I’m pretty dang excited right now!!!! My family is split with some Alabama fans and some Auburn so I could completely understand your concerns! I know it would be hard to convince my family to not worry about the game if either Auburn or Alabama was in the National Championship and my wedding was that day. I hope everything works out for you one way or another!! But I will say I’d definitely be wearing my wedding dress to a sports bar to watch the game 🙂

Well now that you have all this written down, you’ve doomed the team.

I’m not a football fan but most of the hardcore ones I know are crazy superstitious.

@howsweetitis:  Ohhhhh, so no dancing. I get it. And if you are the ones on your phones, then I suppose that is allowed 😛 I read a post before where people didn’t want to attend a wedding because of a game. I was mad for you! But now it’s okay 😀
