I just tried pulled pork for the first time (give me a break, I’m from the UK! ) and it was SO GOOD! I used this recipe and I’ve no idea how authentic it is, but it was definitely yummy. It went down well with Mr CL too!
Has anyone else tried cooking something new recently? Failure or success?

Easy pulled pork recipe. Buy 2 lb pork (bone in preferred.) Buy 12 oz can of root beer (Barq’s preferred.) Buy 1 bottle favorite BBQ sauce (we like Sweet Baby Rays.)
Place pork in crock pot, pour in root beer. Set crock pot to low and cook 8-12 hours (until meat falls apart.) Remove bone from pork and use forks to shred/pull pork into chunks. Pour over 1-2 cups of BBQ sauce depending on how “wet” you want your pulled pork to be. Set back on crock pot on warm and serve on toasted buns or Texas Toast with a side of more BBQ sauce.

My Fiance owns a smoker and smokes all of our meat. His pulled pork is to die for! It’s strange to think of people never having tried it before! lol

Mmm… I use my grandmother’s homemade BBQ recipe when I make pulled pork. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

Dh makes pulled pork all the time in his smoker. We always eat it without sause and pull cole slaw on top. Man I love summer when he does most of the cooking on the smoker.

Haven’t made it myself but will try soon — I got a crock pot for Christmas last year! I did eat the BEST pulled pork BBQ sandwich yesterday. Now my mouth is watering 🙂

We often make this (different recipes all the time) as well as brisket (this is done in the oven though) because you can make alot without effort for big BBQs etc. It freezes really well too!!!

I don’t own a crock pot. I do have a pyrex dish and a casserole dish. Can I make pulled pork in those?
