I cannot stand to watch or hear those military coming home videos. Not that I hate the military or anything like that. My dad is retired military. Those videos bring back so many feelings and memories I cant help but cry. It was tough growing up missing my dad and finally getting him back and then he leaves again. I refused to marry anyone in the military cause I didnt want my kids to have to go through all those emotions and also moving around so much. Am I the only one that crys if they see or hear these coming home videos/surprises?? Maybe I am just getting super emotional as I get older! idk! lol

I don’t personally know anyone in the military (and I am grateful for it because being such a worrier I couldn’t handle it) but I become an emotional wreck everytime I see coming home videos. I am generally NOT an emotional person, DH says I’m pretty heartless when it comes to most “emotional” things because I usually just don’t care but those kill me.

@jesssamesssa: I cry at the pure human emotion in them – not specifically because they are military.
I never used to cry at anything until I met SO and he ‘softened’ me up!

I ugly cry everytime, but I don’t hate them. I am a retired vet and last year one of my buddies surprised his 12 yo DD at school when she was being interviewed by a local news station. It went viral on Yahoo and CNN.
I can only imagine the emotions they bring to you.
