Okay ladies. I wanted to take before pictures so that I can see how much I've improved. I did this when I got home from the gym a few minutes ago. I WAS going to just keep it to myself but I figured since all of you ladies are so sweet & helpful, I'd post a picture up here of my starting point & then my progress each week! Good idea?!?!?! I hope so!
All you ladies should join in! & DON'T be embarassed! We're ladies that you're probably NEVER going to see...and having this post would boost everyones self confiidence up when seeing how much we've all improved!!
I'm looking to lose the loooove handles on the sides, and the pudge that's sticking out! So looking forward to what I can accomplish!!
Let's get this work-out on the road!!
OH btw - I wasn't expecting to be in the first picture, so sorry I'm not smiling!! :) & I know it's a horrible picture, LOL you don't need to tell me twice!
You look pretty good! Good luck with losing weight!
@mrbee: Whatever! I can see them and that's what's important!! :) Haha...but thank you!
I'm with Mr Bee. If I posted my belly, the site may have to be shut down.
Am I crazy to have posted this? I was kind of iffy to begin with & don't want people to think...wow that girl is insane! But I thought it'd be fun :(
Oh me, if only I had your love handles and pudge, lol!!!
I'm serious, I don't see anything, but I'm glad you have a goal, that's awesome! I'll play!
mmmm.... sorry for the next comment...ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!? i will kill for your body. you look great. you dont need to loose any weight. you look beautiful and im pretty sure your FI thinks the same
*blink* You look in amazing shape to me! I mean, hey if you want it flatter go for it, but I don't think either diet or normal excercise is going to change your belly (unless you starve yourself) because that is it's natural shape so I hope you're doing a ton of ab workouts.
No no, you're not crazy. We are always our worst critic! And it's very easy for people to say that you look fine and should just be happy when they aren't YOU and don't know how you normally look or like to feel... don't be ashamed of this... I'll play... just not when I'm feeling bad. I'll post a pic tomorrow, hopefully I'll feel better then.
If I had a belly like yours, I'd be posting it on the internet too, but for good reasons! You barely have an ounce of fat on you!
@kjpugs: I just fell off my chair! lol you're funny!
Lees, I wish my tummy was as "big" as yours :) (I mean that in the nicest way possible!)You're incredibly beautiful & your body looks pretty toned. Don't be too hard on yourself girl!
You have to be happy with your body though! A good belly trimmer is to keep your carbs to the morning/early afternoon. Don't eat carbs after 2pm & you'll see instant trimming happening :)
You look amazing! But I totally know how it doesn't matter what people say, it is how you feel! I'd try some ab workout videos! (Scratch Core 4- you don't need to lose weight!!)
wow you look amazing I don't think you need to change anything BUT I too say things about myself and ppl are like your crazy and blah blah but I guess it all depends on how you see yourself and how you feel about yourself, but you do look great good luck!!
I don't think I'm fat guys! By any means! I just want to tone up my body. I'm happy with my overall body weight, just not with a little tummy fat I have!
LOL Lees, in all seriousness, I know that where I was most comfortable, some people thought I was overweight, and so some people might want to be more toned in certain areas when others think they are perfect! So I am here to say I support you and YOU CAN DO IT! Do it being get to a point where you are built of 100% confidence.
@Recessionista I'm serious! I have a deep set bellybutton! I could store at least 75 cents in there, even at my skinniest.
Lees, I sympathize, even when I'm at my ideal weight my tummy still curves out and looks like it has fat (it is fat of course). But I have to get underweight (which I've been occasionally when stressed) to look like I have an almost flat tummy and there is still a curve. You can't lose weight in a targeted way.
I've actually started ab excercises a week or two ago but have been super bad about doing them. My goal is to do them every day or at least do a good amount every other day. It should work. Now if only I followed through...
@lees- I agree with the bees above, you look awesome!
BUT i know that we are always striving to be our very best self and i applaud you for your determination! I think this is intended to be a motivating post and don't over think posting this! No worries girl! Good luck with your workout plan!!!!!
i know for me, cardio really helps my "love handles".... whats your workout regimen?
I think you look fine, but I'm the same way.
If you're looking for toning throw some yoga or pilates into your workout routine since it helps develop your core muscles. I'll join in...but not this week...I'm err...retaining water this week lol!
Try spin classes...they will melt off the fat. I'm starting them next week and hopefully I'll lose my extra fat. My FI and family all think I'm crazy too since I wear a size 2. I see it so it's there...besides I want to be back in my really skinny jeans. Good luck and check into those classes they will whip you into shape fast !
Haha! @Layla: That's okay! I hope you feel better girl. I'm glad you ladies are joining in & I'm not the only crazy one! LOL..but thank you ladies for being so sweet & telling me I look good! But YES I am my worst critic! & I am HOPEFULLY determinded to look the best I can :)
Belly bloat is all about what you eat. Stick to fresh foods, nothing processed, nothing in a can, drink lemon juice in water, stay away from starchy stuff.
Lees, you're too cute. I especially like the "scrunchie face" you're making in the first picture. I'm with pugs...if I posted pictures like that, the interwebs would implode (okay okay, I'll be nicer to myself).
I think you look great :) However, if you'd be more comfortable toning up, go for it! We'll always be supportive. Plus, it's how you feel about it, not anyone else. If toning up will make you feel more beautiful on your day and overall, you go girl! More power to you! Good luck :D
Haha thanks @Dizzy...I thought the scrunchie face was pretty funny too! LOL...thanks for being supportive ladies!
LMAO I should show you a belly. My thigh is bigger than your body :P... Seriously I don't think you need to lose weight, but if you think you do, try aerobics or perhaps even yoga or pilates to strenghten your core.
I think you look fabulous the way you are :) But hey, we are all our own worst critics. If there's something about yourself that you want to work on, props to you for doing it! Good luck!! You can do it! (But you're beaaauutiiifulll just the way you are :)
Oh em Gee! You have a tiny waist. I'm not even saying it to make you feel good, I genuinely think you have a great tummy!
Lees - I totally get why you are doing this. I am by no means "fat" but I definitely have the last 5 to 10 pounds that I could do to get rid of! You look amazing and get your case, so I support this post!
You do look good, girl! But I understand wanting to improve yourself (I'm sure I would get similar comments if I posted pictures on here). I think the best thing to get rid of some of that fat is to do cardio about 3x a week (spin is great) and pilates or something similar to strengthen your core without having to do a million crunches. Good luck!
@ Lees, you look amazing! But it is advice that you want, after all :) I would go with spinning for cardio and pilates to tone. I only do pilates so far and I can see the effects!
I am kind of on the same lines too...everyone tells me dont loose weight you look great etc...but I see the love handles and pudge too! Maybe I will play when I finally get a little more serious about my pudge. haha
your belly looks like mine. Personally I agree with the others that you are fine, but I do understand wanting to tone the last little bit before say, wearing a bikini.
Last year I was super motivated before a vacation to Hawaii. I started training for a half-marathon, and was really good about eating ~ I increased the amounts of fresh fruits and veggies in my diet, and cut way back on processed foods. The sodium in processed stuff will cause you to bloat, as will too many refined carbs (white bread, pasta, cereal, rice etc). Oh and dairy products are bad for bloating too. Running helps you burn off the extra bit of fat because of the cardio exercise - plus you use your abs when you run (without even thinking about it!). Add in some longer runs and it makes a big difference in tummy tone! I lost 8 lbs in 8 weeks, and had a nice six pack starting to emerge! Sadly I got lazy about eating so it's hidden under a winter layer again... but I'm planning to sign up for another half marathon to get me ready for summer again :)
lees i think this is great that you are doing it!! great motivation! and i agree with everyone you look great, but its really about how you feel! everyone always tells me i look great, and my response is you havent seen me without my clothes!! i would totally do this with you except my amazing son left stretch marks on my belly so it will never see the light of day again!! Good luck!!
Oh my God, what I'd give to have a body like that! You look amazing!!!
I don't think you see what the rest of us see! Best of luck with your goals and getting where you want, just make sure that you're not putting yourself down over small things. Do what you need to do, but remember that positive self talk makes a huge difference.
Your "before" looks like my "after" goal. Please don't refer to yourself as fat. It's not your intention, but I am bigger than you and it makes me feel kinda awful. : (
Oh ... can i have you body and you can have mine because i would kill to have your curves!
I know what your saying about not being fat and just wanting to tone up... Yoga is awesome.
I kindda have the same problem... except i can't get rid of mine.... it's isn't fat it's skin.... once again... I'd KILL to have your tummy!!
I wouldn't be game enough to post my tummy.... i mean its not fat but it looks like i've had about 10 kids.. *sad* (i'll post a before and after picture of me so you can get an idea on how much "skin" would be left over.... although i'm sure you wouldn't want to... HAHA"
I've looked into tummy tucks but that scares me... LOL what if something goes really wrong?
I'm currently doing yoga.... just got back into it, maybe that will help.
@baby: you look phenomenal!! how did you lose the weight?
a strict 30 day weight lose plan.
Yoga, Pilates and Billy Blanks TaeBo!!
