    Depends.  Are you dancing to slow jams on the beach?  In that case, don’t really see too much difference.

    Equating stripping with wearing a bikini on the beach is no more ridiculous than equating a topless dancer with a porn star or hooker, which some posters are doing as well.  Actually, I believe the latter comparison was made first.

    Sorry, but the logisitics are totally the same.  In the area that I live in, women can only strip wearing a bikini, no nudity.  And I have seen much, much skimpier outfits on the beach.  And I have seen girls prancing around and running and even sunbathing topless, as well.  I have also, as a result, seen men staring at the show I just talked about.

    The difference is, these women aren’t pretending to like the men and they also aren’t getting paid to put all of their stuff on display.  You can of course argue that the intent is different – no argument there.  But the tittilation factor is the same.  Any guy that will get aroused watching a girl in a bikini dance will get just as aroused watching what he considers a good looking girl in a bikini lying in the sand in a towel or frolicking in waves.

    I don’t think the way the patrons in a strip club are dressed have anything to do with it.  Plus, I’ve seen all sizes at strip clubs, just like on beaches.  I will say, the biggest difference to me is that women on the beach don’t normally wear 5″ lucite heels, lol!  Oh, and since you seemed shocked that someone educated would think that way I guess I have to say that I am a final year Biology student with a 3.8 and full scholarship, as well as work full time at a non profit dining club.  So hopefully you would consider that an educated person enough?

    Wow, seriously?  I didn’t mean it literally.  It was just a point in the argument with the poster to whom I was responding saying that her problem was with women being objectified and oggled at (not a jealousy thing).

    And just because you wanted to call out my comment into it’s own thread to try and prove me wrong…

    You said:

    but how many of us can walk into work every day in a bikini?

    Sooooo, if you’re a lifeguard and are required to wear a bathing suit to your work, are you more like a stripper then a girl on the beach in a tiny bikini?

    And don’t question my level of education (again, you were obviously referring to my post from the other thread) when you can’t spell “shocking” right.

    And I quote again:

    I created this poll because its shoking me that bees are comparing stripping to being on the beach in a bikini?

    Wow!  Such controversy!  I live in southern CA, and there are often women at beaches clad in outfits that would probably make a stripper blush.  As luckyprincess stated, the titillation factor is the same, except that men aren’t paying for it.

    I think that oftentimes the assumption is made that only perverts go to strip joints, and only skanks are strippers, which is far from the truth (and before everyone gets pissed about that statement, you’ll notice that I said “oftentimes” not “always”).  A lot of people go to strip joints for the entertainment factor.  I was at one of my best friend’s birthday parties and the guys decided it might be fun to go to a strip joint.  Not because we all needed to go check out naked women, but just for something to do at that point.  And to my other point, I knew a girl that was putting herself through college, worked a day job, and stripped at night and on the weekends.  And she was one of the sweetest people I’d met.  I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being either a patron or a stripper (NOT sex worker…for the love of pete), so long as you know what you’re getting yourself in to.

    Let’s face it…if you’ve got a bangin’ bod and you’re going to trot it out for the world to see then you will be looked at.  By men AND by women.  Whether its on a beach, in a nightclub or while twirling around the pole, what difference does it make?  You still know what you’ve got and you’re showing it off.

    Don’t let her get to you @MandaMack.  The “poll” is clearly one-sided and borders on being intellectually dishonest.  If the OP was looking for an honest debate, she would’ve been a bit more impartial with the question.

    I mean… it’s not totally the same but it is definitely similar.

    I am offended by the insinuation that the only people who would think this are ignorant. I find that the comment about being (un)educated rather snarky and uncalled-for.

    @lezlers: Agreed!

    @lezlers: I just find it ironic that people on the other thread were having a cow because they thought the OP was talking about their thread (when there are TONS of threads the OP could have been referring to on the Bee) and this post was CLEARLY about my post, haha.  I’m actually flattered; my “debate team” skills are so good they’re starting run-off arguments! hahaha

    @MandaMack:

    Yeah, but you’re “pro-stripper” so normal rules don’t apply to you.  You’d better start groveling with a quickness.  😉

    @puddingpop:

    Thanks!  I’m having WAY too much fun posting today. 😀

    @lezlers: and if the OP was looking for an honest debate, she probably would have chimed in again by now!

    @bells: If you hadn’t questioned my intelligence (with your “educated people” comment) I wouldn’t have brought up your spelling mistakes (“shoking” wasn’t the only one, by the way).  If you’re going to imply that other Bees are unintelligent, maybe you should type your post properly.  That’s just my opinion though.
