I am a little skeptical about this working, but its worth a try right????? lol

Tonight I am cooking my man engagement chicken, I would cook him the apple pie too but he is a celiac so Ill have to come up with something else lol.

does anyone know what the time frame for the supposed engagement is supposed to be???

I told my friend that I was making this tonight and she was like....you shouldn't rush the engagement and I was like...shut up you are already engaged, you wouldnt understand lol

so here's to all my waiting ladies!

Good luck! I don't think you are rushing engagement because you are cooking for your man. I think she may just want the spotlight just for herself.

Oooh, good luck! I wanted to make it for us yesterday, but it didn't work out. Now I'm having eye surgery tomorrow, so it'll be a while before I can make it! It seems to happen within 1-3 months, but that's just my own observation. Keep us posted! :)

i'm not sure what he's able to eat, but they do have gluten free pie crusts. and i used an all purpose gluten free flour that i got from whole foods that you can just substitute for any flour and put it in my pie crust recipe, it was delish! good luck!

I'm officially keeping an eye on this thread for the future.  If and when the engagement happens, this thread will be proof to the wonderous engagement chicken.  GL.

I'm also Celiac if you have any questions.  I love the frozen pie crusts from whole foods!  Otherwise, the best mix is GF pantry (the one w/ the white & turquoise stripes.)

What IS engagement chicken? I hear that there's another room in the house, besides the kitchen, that will work wonders on your man!

Good luck!

I won't be making engagement chicken, no matter how hard my finger itches, even if I scratch it through to the bone!  I don't care for chicken or really any meat that is on a bone, other than fish.

I saw a rotisserie lemon pepper chicken at walmart the other night, and thought "hrm, if I bought one of these and slipped it on the table, would it work? Only I would know..."

supposedly it's six months after you make it, i think the power of the hive (willing it to happen) is what has shortened the time... for those interested i'll post the link with the recipe... i made mine about two months ago and nada yet... we'll see... lol!!

"engagement chicken," at the very least, will be a delicious meal.  It's super yummy and moist.  I made it a couple months ago, but I'm still waititing!!

Good luck!

I made it for my man back in August....Still waiting. Undecided

But I must add, you have to cook it longer than suggested. I learned it the hard way when SO put it back in to cook it longer and basically took over...wonder if that means I'm supposed to propose to him...LMAO

Dinner was yummy, now let the magic begin lol

I was a little skeptical that it would taste as good as it did cause it seemed like a really simple recipe.

BF even went back for seconds lol

Ok, I'm jumping on the engagement chicken bandwagon and am making it tonight! Good to know that it takes longer than advertised... I just flipped the bird after the first 15 minutes and it still looks pale! :) I think it'll definitely take longer than 35 minutes to brown up and cook thoroughly.
