I have a long time guy friend (we’ve been friends for probably 12 years now) that Fiance and I decided we would like in the wedding party. Since he’ll be one of the groomsmen, what’s proper etiquette.. for me to ask him or for my FI? My Fiance and I have hung out with him together quite often over the past four years that we’ve been together, but they’ve never once done anything solo.
We’ll be seeing him tonight so I was wondering who should do the asking? Not that it *really* matters at the end of the day, but I guess I’m just a detail nut 🙂

Maybe you and your Fiance can ask him together.

I don’t think there is any “proper etiquette here.” But in my opinion, if he’s your friend he should be standing up for you, not for your Fiance. He would be on your side, you would do the asking.

Why don’t you make him a bridesman? Then you can just ask him. 🙂

I think he’d decline if I asked him to stand up on my side. It’s not something you ever see around here (Wisconsin) and he’s definitely not going to break the mold.
