Wow!!!
That looks great, and you are very patient to have been able to do that.
I would get cardstock that is the same color as the lighter color. That way it wouldn't be too busy, and it would show off your work better. Even just putting it in a frame that is the same size without cardstock would look great. Sometimes less is more :-)
@noritake22: Haha, I find it relaxing...and our cats like to watch the needle and thread move. The lighter color is white--it looks a bit dingy due to the crap lighting in our apartment. I think the rest of the table numbers will be black thread on white Aida (I could only find one pack of the black), so I feel like there should be a different color for the background, if only for consistency.
@Soladylike: Thanks! It was a nice break from the pattern I'd been working on before, which was a landscape-type-thing that came in a kit from my mother. Eek.
This is great! I would suggest using another wedding color (if you have one) as the background mounted color. Otherwise, the lighter color would be great too!
@napabridekelsey: Thank you! I'll see what DH thinks when he gets home, but I'm leaning toward nice cardstock instead of doing more stitching on it. ;P
I don't think you need any thread at all. That would only distract from the work you put into it. Plus this looks 50s just the way it is.
HOLY CRAP! How did you do that!? This is awesome!!!!!!
LOVE! It came out awesome! Now I feel like a useless lazy bum, having spent my entire sick day at home playing Bejeweled and looking at Weddingbee.
Basic cross stitch, LOL. Not at all hard when you learn how to do it!
@meliss: If it makes you feel any better, I stayed in my jammies all day, too. ;D
OMG that's fabulous.
I would think some green might look good. Wow I still can't believe you did this in 7hours ... it would take me .. years.
I am insanely impressed. That is true dedication right there. Adorable and really unique :) Go you!!
Thanks! :) I've been cross-stitching for years (learned when I was 12, took a break a few years ago and am just now coming back to it), so I'm pretty quick. It's not difficult, though--just time-consuming.

...And twelve to go. I made pretty decent time on this, though; all in all, it took about 7-8 hours (I watched/listened to Nip/Tuck the entire time, lol). Obviously, it'll look a lot nicer when it's been ironed out and is mounted on some pretty paper!
Crooked picture is crooked. Also, Stephen King is awesome (re: the book underneath).
What do you think? Should I add some purple or green somewhere as an accent? Where would you put it? DH and I ruled out table names because we felt it's a little over-the-top for us, and the amount of work I'd have to put in would not be pretty.
Also--any suggestions for cardstock patterns? I'm trying to avoid damask because every single reception in our area in the last five years has used damask (no exaggeration here) and I'm just not in love with the look.
ETA: To give credit where credit is due, the font I used for the pattern is "Showtime" (and can be found at dafont.com).
