Hey bees! Im having two, possibly three receptions and I need dresses for them all. The first reception will also include an intimate ceremony for immediate family- no more than 30 people. Is it completely inappropriate to order a bridesmaid dress in an ivory/champagne color and wear that? The ceremony is going to be in our home, so I will probably wear a fascinator instead of a veil and jazz it up with some jewelry. Tentatively I have ordered this dress in champagne:
Im not a David’s Bridal fan at all.. Ive been in one too many weddings where they have messed up my shoes or dress. Not to mention, the way Ive been treated. Hopefully by ordering online I can eliminate the stress of going into a store and finally have a good experience with them. And, when the price is right…
Our second reception is going to be in DC.. this is where all the friends and fam will be invited- I plan to wear “the big white dress” to this. Plus, we’ll be doing our formal pics around the city that day too.
Our last reception may be in the country where Mr. W’s family lives. I may need to be in a bridal saree for that.. so Im not even worried about that craziness until the details are worked our for the actual event.
I have a lot of planning ahead of me… eek!

I don’t think it’s inappropriate at all to order a bridesmaid dress in ivory and use it as a wedding dress. It’s a great way to keep the cost down. And for the small ceremony you are describing, I think that dress is a great fit.
