@StaceyA:  I don’t know if you remember, but I travelled to Europe in the spring and it threw my usually VERY regular cycles for a loop and delayed ovulation. There was awhile there where I thought I was going to have an annovulatory cycle, and I did a lot of reading on the topic and found it was very common after overseas travel.

Given that, if I were you, I would probably wait one more cycle before going to the doctor, as it very well could resolve itself next month. I also think it’s wise to focus on healthfully gaining a little weight.

I know you’ve had some frustrating setbacks over the past few months and you probably don’t want to wait any longer to address any potential issues. I imagine, though, that the travel had a significant effect and, if you wait a month and have another wonky cycle (fingers crossed that doesn’t happen) then at least you will know that it wasn’t just the travel. Kind of a matter of isolating the variables if you know what I mean.

As for the spotting, my guess would be breakthrough bleeding and an annov. cycle.

Good luck!

Sorry that the spotting hasn’t cleared up by now…I’m glad you are going to see the doctor.

Have you been temping during all of this? What are your temps doing?

I’m interested to see what your doctor says.  I frequently have spotting like that, but mine is always accompanied by a period eventually.  This month I spotted like that for something like 8-9 days before I started my period, so I can empathize with you on how annoying it is.  GL today at the doctor!

Glad your appointment went well, glad to hear she is positive about your situation!

It’s interesting that she commented on how many women don’t really know the difference between heavy spotting and a period.  I am definitely in that boat, because until recently I counted heavy spotting as starting my period, when I guess I should have waited to start counting it as when I had a bright red flow.  I’m still kind of confused as to what cycle date I’m on this month because of the weird spotting I had, but I’m hoping to ovulate sooner rather than later, and that should give me a better idea of what CD I’m on (I usually ovulate around CD20).

@StaceyA:  Really glad to hear all went well with the doctor and that you were able to get some peace of mind. Also great to hear that your doctor is pro-charting!

@StaceyA:  That sounds like a great appointment! I would definitely find comfort in her words and I hope you do too. I think sometimes we automatically think the worst, and that never helps any situation. *hugs to you chicky!*
