From what I’ve seen on here, Bestbridalprices seems to be pretty reputable, as is pearl’s place in LA, jay’s in FL.  I bought mine from yourdreamdress.com–not exactly second hand but it was perfect!

I got my dress from Jays in Florida for around $700 less than the bridal shop told me. Netbride and ebridalsuperstore are also repituable.

do any of the bridal stores you looked at offer free alterations? that could even out the price difference. honestly, i would go to the bridal store and tell them you love the dress but found it cheaper online. i wouldn’t be surprised if they gave you a discount!

The best thing you can do is reach out to the Bridal salon that helped you find and try on the gown, they are the ones that have earned your business. Let them know you love the dress and have found it online for less, they will most likely be willing to give you some credits towards other items in the store usually a veil, shoes, etc..

The fact is usually the Bridal salons have the price listed at the Suggested retail price of the designers and the online stores are “discounting” the dress because they don’t have to invest in the sample gowns, the staff to help you try them on etc.

In today’s economy everyone is trying to save money and that is understandable however you will only hurt your local economy by giving away your business to an online “store” that has done nothing to actually earn your business.

Plus when you work with the local bridal salon you will have real people to help you with the alterations & pressing and if any thing comes up they can handle it for you and things do come up, the designers could leave off an appliqué, or sew something incorrectly. When you are dealing with a salon they are your middle men, an online retailer will be done with you the minute they get your money.

Please at least give the bridal salon a chance, you might be surprised at how much they are willing to do to help you.

I ordered from bestbridalprices.com and loved the experience. Even when my Enzoani gown arrived missing a crystal, they immediatly sent me a shipping label to send it back, and I had my dress looking brand new within 2 weeks or so.

Will SOME online retailers be done with you as soon as they have your money? I’m sure! But bestbridalprices.com was not one of them. I saved a 1/3 on the price of my dress, and their customer service was excellent. I must say, I was VERY proactive when I discovered the flaw, as I found it within 15 minutes of getting it home, and immediatly sent them an email with pictures attached so they could verify the issue.

I would give them a call and see what they have to say about ordering. Theres no shame in saving money!
